  • Lemon peel, grapefruit peel, intense chalk, and a touch of strawberry. Initially a relatively brief aftertaste, but after only a moment in the glass it starts to lengthen and, after about 20 minutes in the glass, becomes extremely long. When just poured, the wine is strikingly austere, but it rapidly relaxes and becomes very appealing. A shy wine, you need to spend some time with it to realize how powerful it is. I wonder how this will age? This was my only bottle, but if I had a case I would set aside a few bottles to find out. [Tasted from the Jancis Robinson glass.]
