Purchased this for under $20. I found it enjoyable, fruit forward and balanced. I get cherry, sweet plum skin and honestly unoffensive. It's a good everyday wine.

Fruity and medium bodied. Well balanced and easy drinking. Comes across more like a red blend than a Pinot, but a very good value for the price. One of my favorite everyday wines.

Consumed over two evenings, with day 2 surprisingly much better. Saw other comments stating this wine was much like the highly extracted, overly sweet Meomi Pinot. Did not find this at all. Its medium bodied, fairly simple but loaded with spicy, dried fruit and cola Pinot flavors. The finish is long. At $16 its an excellent, every day Pinot.

Con un perfil que se inclina mas hacia el lado dulce, es un Pinot moderno, muy perfumado. Amable al punto de ser mas bien un pop ´n pour... Recomendado para los seguidores del estilo Wagner.

So I wrote "This wine seems to be for the Meiomi crowd" and then I realized it is a Wagner product. There you go. The wine is big, sweet and somewhat extracted. Not my style and therefore unscored.

So, Boen has three labels that get a mix of reviews. I have been interested to try this, and had the chance to try a glass at Rozi’s Wine House in Cleveland. Some reviews have it as similar to Meiomi … I agree with that because it seems a little over extracted which is a turn off for me with Meiomi, but that may be fine if you like that sort of thing. Vanilla notes on the nose with ripe black cherry and a smooth finish. I think this would be a good match with a spicy dish, but certainly enjoyable on its own. Solid. Score = [ 50 + 5 + 11 + 15 + 8 ] = 89.

Delicious 😋 another slam dunk from Joe Wagner and Copper Cane. Restrained fruitiness and dryness in perfect balance. Was enjoyable with dinner and on its own. Similar to Meiomi but not as big, so closer to a traditional red Burgundy, yet still bold. Jammy, chewy and floral.

I struggled with this wine. The profile was that of typical Wagner wines, but the Boen lacked depth and flavor. There was also too much bitterness - too much burnt vanilla - for my taste. I really wanted to like the wine, and I tasted it over two days. I need to try the Beran again.

A mash up of flavors, maybe a bit engineered but can you do better for $16? In Santa Barbara, you probably can but elsewhere probably not so that decent QPR. It’s drinkable but not elegant, quaffable, but not memorable. I think you get the drift😜 better than the 17 but not by a lot.

Lush and fruit forward. Great weeknight wine with grilled honey garlic pork chops. Medium to full bodied with berries and loom on the nose.
