Served w/dinner grilled pork chops brined and rubbed with curry power, cumin, chili powder, black pepper, and brown sugar. Side of grilled asparagus marinated in olive oil, seasoned w/salt and pepper, and brown rice.
Light-red in color, light fruity taste, bright acidity. Black pepper notes on finish.

Thursday, January 05, 2006 Cherry and cola; cola and cherry. Ok, maybe some teaberry in there also. No, there’s not a lot of depth here, but it is a nicely balanced wine. Medium bodied. Always a go to wine for me. This time I picked it as one of several wines for a non-wine (read: martini guzzling) crowd on New Year’s. They chose not to open this one. My gain. 13.5% alc. With mushrooms and country ham with creamy grits. Actually, this was a pretty good pairing.

Good consistency, light red, some purpling at edges. Nose of strawberry jam, slight vanilla. Great red fruit attack. General feeling of a very well made wine, excellent balance, silky as PN should be.

Wine Education Service - Pinot Noir: Youthful ruby. Ripe fruit aromas, cherries and other red fruit, upfront and unsubtle, uncomplicated. Sweet fruit and liquorice, reasonable balance, soft tannins, smooth and agreeable, medium length.

Tasting at Saintsbury (Carneros CA): Ultra ripe black fruit aromas. Jammy, almost fruit forward flavors. Simple fruit towards finish without much complexity.

Better than I remembered after it breathed for a bit. Put back on the buy list if it drops uner $20.
