  • Ridiculously delicious, generous bouquet full of watermelon and strawberry laced with a bit of reduction. Not an overly complex wine but with just enough material to be interesting and almost decadent to sip on. Refined tannins. This is very young now and already lip smacking.

  • Light in colour - probably similar in colour to 2014 Volnay Les Taillepieds Dom de Montille which is a red wine.
Strawberries and roses on the nose.
Beautiful fruit and acidity on the palate with hint of spiciness. Very moreish.
    Fine tannins.
This really exceeded my expectations. Serious rose.
    Will buy if available.

  • Pronounced strawberry, cherry, spices. A really fascinating wine.

  • Extra point for being slightly unusual. It’s not really a rise but more a light beaujolais style with a more Pinot feel.
It’s quite dark, touch of wild fruit and almost farm notes like a burgundy.(sone Pinot Beurot in mix and barrel aged) Takes a sweet core but has good sour / grip. Bright fruit

  • Pours dark; darkest “rose’ I’ve tried.
    Nose: Ripe muscadine grape
Palate: Ripe muscadine grape, touch of tart-candied sweetness. Some tannic bite here, believe it or not. Med. acid. 13% Alc.
Whatever this is, theres a lot of oomph to it. Not quite quite what I’d expect from a Marsannay rose’, and not really for me, but Pataille is never boring. I bet this would go over well at many a garden party with food.

  • Very dark rosé more like a light red, all strawberries and a bit of spice with something floral. Zero tannins and high acidity and a long strawberry finish. Very good.

  • Striking ruby red in the glass. Expressive nose with crunchy, pure red fruit with and a smoky floral note. Lovely texture on the palate with a touch of grip and beautiful freshness. Delicious. A light red rather than a rosé so better only lightly chilled. Drink now or hold.

    WSET Notes:

    Pale ruby.

Pronounced on the nose with raspberry, redcurrant, red cherry, violet, smoke and mace. Youthful.

Pronounced and dry on the palate with a savoury touch on the palate. Medium minus body, medium alcohol, high acidity, low tannins, long finish.

Can drink now but has potential for ageing.
