Cherry, mint, grape bubblegum, becoming more oxidative and showing some caramel/brown sugar notes as well. Substantial acidity and tannin remain, sour cherry fruit and a little more intrigue with some air.

A bit disappointing and past prime. Medium red in color with a touch of bricking at the rim. Nose is a bit musty and mossy without much fruit. Thin and a bit tannic on the palate.

Coconut, spearmint, ripe nose seems out of place in this wine. Some licorice and burnt cherry on the palate but the sappy dark fruit is marred by plasticky aromas. Thin midpalate with sufficient acidity leads to an undewhelming finish. Not what I was expecting.

Bordeaux vs. Napa Cab: mano-a-mano in 4 rounds; 9/7/2011-9/8/2011: I liked this fine, with its pleasant nose of smoke, black olive and baking spices. Distinctive whiffs of coconut come and go, and something like a hospital smell too. Full resolved and silky in the mouth, but with unremarkable complexity and depth. Probably better 5 year ago, at least this bottle. Good.

Beautiful spearmint and capsicum nose. Sweet sexy Napa fruit with a bit of tobacco. Broad, thinner midpalate. Smooth, elegant and incredible acidity. Not a muscular wine, but sleek, regal, and perfumey. Wow!

Just as good as the previous bottle understanding the need to drink because this wine is drinking so well. Every bit as enjoyable in the Bordeaux style, full blown flavor balanced and refined nose to long finish.

Picked up from the winery and stored in temp control. Excellent example of a Bordeaux style wine from NAPA. Wonderful rich aromas of aged fruit, cassis and violets, smooth full flavor to start with a complex blend of depth and a mouth watering finish. Truly enjoyable wine, mid range not large with aged, balanced yet full flavor.

Very little signs of age with a dark purple core. The nose was a wonderful mix of ripe cherry, leather, tobacco, and cassis. The palate was framed by acid and aged flavors, sour cherries, earth and tobacco. The bottle aged flavors and complexity in this wine were stronger than the fruit. For this reason I feel this would really appeal to fans of a well aged claret. The finish came off as short but firm and worked with dinner. Overall the aged nuances of a lighter weight cab from napa when opened at the right time is a wonderful thing. Considering that this a single bottle was sitting on a shelf at my LWS it was in great shape and showed very well.

This bad boy is not dead! I have had this bottle for years and drank it on new years day. The fruit was still good and, was a very pleasant surprise!
