Nice med pale to med yellow with a v slight green tinge - nice nose of apples, quince, pear, and a faint broader note - nice round entry, nice balance w good acidity and fruit, and a nice subtle leesy/oak note - all the pieces are pulling in the same direction, and the finish ends in a smoky note that suits it well to food - very nice and holding up well. This might keep another 1-3 years, but it is drinking perfectly right now.

Still crankin', though we should have had it last year. A good bottle to christen the porch for Spring weather. Nice creaminess with pear, pineapple & honey. Very nice.

Ok, this one delivers for the price...like others have said, reminds me of a Chardonnay, but with less oak. The nose is complicated, but i'm getting pineapple, some nutty/vanilla combo. Must say swear i had an initial hit of cotton candy. The mouth feel is bordering creamy, soft textures with similar notes as the nose, more vanilla/nutty components - but not the classic "oaky" kind if you know what i mean - this was more classic vanilla/almond. There is a decent amount of acid/tartness combined in here, and i guess makes this an interesting mix with food.

We had this with grilled lobster tail on 5/4/09. It had a great bouquet of lemon, pear and vanilla aromas. The palate followed with lemon, pear, melon, vanilla and apricot flavors. It was very smooth, round, creamy and delicious. My wife hated it and I can’t understand why!

Lemon meringe pie or bananas foster and coconut - BUT not in too sweet of a fashion. Lots of steely edge and a touch of oak. Very pleasant and good with food or solo. Nice value.

nose - mid to full bodied. reminded be a bit of a chardonnay, maybe based on its fullness. Interestingly it improved as it warmed up. Good with food. Certainly not a bad wine, however, not really pulling my strings

Swordfern Wine Tasting #3: Semillon (Paul and Kelli's: Seattle, WA): Gorgeous nose (most expressive of the five semillons we tasted) of honey-coated dates and hints of lime. Rich, creamy mouthfeel with notes of honey and butterscotch. Pretty tasty, although it ventured into flabby territory; the least acidic of the flight.

Quite interesting nose with flavors of almonds, vanilla-citrus-pie, marzipan and ginger. Slightly creamy mouthfeel and good bodyweight, but this wine is all in all too bitter for my taste. Bitter roasted almonds and vanilla are dominating on the palate. The finish is a bit short as well. Not my typer of wine, but solid and drinkable with an intersting nose. Won't buy this again.

I'm a huge fan of L'ecole Semillon's, and this wine reminds me why. This is the perfect sub for a chard. It has gorgeous creaminess, without and of the bitter woodiness. I think of lemon meringue pie when I drink these wines. Beautifully round, but with lovely acidity keeping it refreshing. Phenomonal value, and an easy by the case by.

Pretty nose of roasted pineapples, ginger and lemongrass with just a bit of toasty oak. Fat and almost sweet flavors follow lead by more pineapple, grass and hay.

This was my first single varietal Semillon. Great color and mouthfeel, my first impression was that this was a solid wine. However, the more I drank I noticed the lack of finish (short and dry). I probably need to taste more Semillons before recommending this wine as "buy again" or "pass." Overall, it was just ok.

Back to a more solid effort on this wine. Better mouthfeel and structure than the 2005. Still lots of oak, but on the silky side of things. Would purchase again.

This wine has improved in the cellar. Very nice acidity that made it sparkle. Smooth pear finish.

Wine Education Service - Pacific North West: Yellow green gold.
Sweet smelling, honey and tropical fruit.
Honey without fruit in the mouth, quite dry, somewhat boring.

Thursday Night 5 for $5 (The Grapevine - Pocatello, ID): Watery straw yellow color, low aroma of pineapple, citrus. Light body with lively acid. Moderate palate of bitter citrus and spice. Medium finish. Too bitter.

A very attractive, subtle lemony-creamy nose. Quite forward on the palate. More of an interesting wine than an unreservedly enjoyable one.

Fruity, a bit stringent, with lemon grass citrus overtones. Just what is expected in a classy semillon.
