Retail $33. Responsible Bottle (586g; 1lb 4.6oz). Under cork. 100% Chardonnay. I had just returned from New Orleans where I had a stellar Chablis 1er Cru Butteaux (which is fairly rare) and I decided to pull one of my own Chablis 1ers, this Montmains (a much larger vineyard). Whoa. Another fantastic bottle, with similar notes but perhaps even better than the previous. Fantastic.
Retail $33. 100% Chardonnay. This is the fourth bottle of seven that I have cracked and this is easily the best thus far. Now I know a bit about bottle variation, but this is close to ridiculous. Brilliant straw in the glass, with faint citrus (lime, lemon curd) and white acacia flower, but the star of the show, as with many a Chablis, is the steely minerality. The palate is surprisingly a tad round but with much more fruit than I found on the nose. By the mid palate, the acidity kicks in and carries the wine all the way to the finish. Lovely.
Retail $33. 100% Chardonnay. While the notes are consistent with the last bottle we tried, I am a bit less enthralled here, if only slightly. I guess I need to get to the rest of these soon? thedrunkencyclist.com

Retail $33. 100% Chardonnay. I picked these up from Last Bottle even though I had sworn off Burgundy for all the premature oxidation issues I have encountered. But I figured that popping this early (relatively) would avoid all that (and the issue has been far less prevalent in Chablis, for whatever reason). Dark in the glass. Ruh roh, here we go again. My wife tried to convince me that it was more "golden." Uh huh. Happily, a surprise: a tropical nose of guava and pineapple. Subtle fruit on the palate, great tartness, admirable finish. Nice. thedrunkencyclist.com

Popped and poured; consumed over five hours. Initially served too cold, as time and temperature increased this became more expressive. On the nose, it’s pineapple, squishy tropical fruit, and fresh gasoline. On the palate it’s tropical fruit and minerals. Long-ish finish. I think this will benefit from time.

Had 4 of these delivered a few weeks ago. I found it a tad bitter and a tad flabby. Gonna let the other 3 settle from their travels a bit longer and try again

Classic Chablis. Mineral driven with great acidity. Really subtle and elegant. Classy. 91

Beau Chablis, ample et gras avec une légère
amertume. Assez droit et long...avec le temps
sera excellent.

Dinner at Jims - An open that bottle night (Jim's): Nice Chablis. Did have time to really linger over it but the glass I had hit all the right points.

Good acidity, nose. Flavors of honey, melon and flowers. Representing Chablis well.
