Color: Light to medium ruby with an orange hue. Nose: Raspberries. Mouth: Light to medium bodied. Good expressiveness and length. Quite boring and rather simple. Good wine but way overpriced.

I mean, it isn't bad. But at this young age, I would never ever have guessed for this to, supposedly, be a Brunello. Too much fruit, too little sophistication and too little most other things. Not bad, kind of decent, just that there isn,'t anything else than simple fruit. New worlidshly simple, if you will. Meh.

Pop and pour on this BdM. This could have used some air time.
On the nose, red fruit, oak and tree bark. Initial sips were tart cherry, substantial oak, and aged leather. This took some time to develop and there were secondary notes of cedar, tobacco, smoke and mild chocolate notes. Unremarkable finish.
Med bodied, nicely dry, smooth and easy drinking. This would score better with a good decant but was still nice to sip.
I have several older vintages on hand. Looking forward to comparing them.

I drank this wine over the course of two days. I decanted for an hour on day one and mostly got peppery and gravy notes on the nose after opening. After the first hour passed the wine started showing notes of red fruit but they were quite faint. On the palate some small notes of cherry, licorice, and spice but not much else.
I had the rest of the bottle on day two and the wine totally changed. Red fruits were dominating the nose as well as the palate. The tannins were gripping but in a good way but the finish was quite faint in my opinion.
I am curious to see if the 2018 is better than this one.

I have tasted many Castelgiocondo Brunello's, but not one recently. I decanted my wine, and I let it sit for three hours. I wasn't particularly impressed with my first sip. The 2017 is a bit light, and not very interesting. It has a fine layer of tannin, and perhaps a bit of fruit. I think that ageing will improve this wine. 88 for now, but that could go higher with age.

Dry, mineral notes combined with berry notes; tannins; wine club notes - notes of raspberry, black currant, pomegranate; hints of violet / rose; pepper, clove, toasted notes

classic brunello color, that lighter purple with cognac brown overtones. Smell also reeks (in the perfect way) of brunello - hints of dirt, minerality and some mushroom. It was bit young and seemed like it needed to mature, but very deliverable

Bright to medium ruby red colour. Very expressive on the nose. Berries, floral notes, spices and cinnamon. Concentrated, medium-bodied with crisp acidity. But, most of all, elegant. Ther is also an obvious mineral layer which makes it fresher. Really long, intense finish.

Quite approachable, despite being young. More fruit on the palate, medium tannins with notes of red berries.

couleur rubis assez sombre. Nez de fruits rouges (framboise). En bouche pas mauvais mais tanins un peu désagréable.

Very nice & pleasant nose: Notes of violet, flowers, with an earthiness to it.
Taste: both fruity & acidic , first impression is that these are balanced. Tannic finish with a nice length.
Depending on taste can drink now A sure value and will drink well over coming 5-10 years.
