decanted; tasted against the 98`, this was stellar; some spice and a hint of pepper blend with the nice ripe red fruit; it was soft and elegant and just kept on giving and giving; my immediate conclusion was to find more of this wine ASAP; in fact, the 99` Isabelle is really shining presently and both of these are truly magnificent Pinots.

Decanted for 1.5 hours prior to drinking and this is a great pinot. It has aged gracefully and has a depth of flavors that I wasn't expecting. Wish I had more.

This continues to drink fabulously. Great balance of fruit, spice and acidity - nice complexity that allows you to contemplate it as the finish hangs on. Wish I had more.

Great power and complexity, not unlike a pre-adolescent Beaune 1er in a ripe year. Very impressive. The tannins are still obvious, but it is very much ready to be decanted and delved into.

At Michael's Genuine Food, The Design District, Miami w Charlie & Maria Frumkin. Charlie's wine, selected because of Jim Clendenen's involvement in Michael's. Charlie decanted for 4 hours. In answer to RP's question wll it develop? YES IT CAN! This is highly representative of Au Bon Climat and Clendenen's approach which is to craft wines that will age and evolve. This one shows beatifully now, and should be soon exhibiting ethereal secondary and tertiary characteristics.
