Tale of two wines. It changed and opened so much more after four hours. After an hour had fruit and layers and undertones. Each and bramble and yummyness. Then, we went back, another cherry fruit opened up and took over. Both excellent. Layers both ways. Long finish. Very fun and excellent wine

Decanted for an hour. Tasting great with blackberry and other dark fruit. Good foundation built with nice acid and tannins and depth. Everything remains in place on the lengthy finish. 91-92.

Too early, could use more time even with 50 min decant. Duh. Great fruit on Nose and P. Raspberry, cherry and black currant. Green herbs and a bit of floral brightness. More power than the old vine zinfandel but the finish fades a bit.

Deep dark and brooding, with obnoxious jammy fruit leaping from the glass. Bursting with berry flavor, and a richness, but not harsh or too alcoholic. Very good balance and we polished off this bottle with desert! We’ll done MTP!

Early days, but this is open and luscious, reminding me more than a little of the sappiness of the Evangelho Heritage wine. The last glass on night two has calmed down, and shows a more classic Dry Creek character, though it’s still on the ample side. Boysenberry fruit with moderate back end tannins, this is very enjoyable drinking right now. It has plenty of stuffing to age, but why not just have fun!

Wow! Massive structure with high acidity. There are generous blue and black fruits, black pepper, some wild flowers, all framed by the high acid and firm tannins. This wine was still huge on day 3. As time went on more nuance came out - orange zest, sweet tobacco, a hint of clove, some little spice. This will age for a long time, but I'm happy I opened a bottle now.

Decanted 3 hrs. I know I know, you can’t open a Lorenzo for 30 years from the vintage date (loved the podcast on this vineyard) but this 19 version to me, says otherwise. Yes, I almost choked on the first sip, so full of power and muscle, perhaps a tad premature to have been opened. Thankfully, I just needed some food in the pie hole, and voila! an amazing young Lorenzo is in the house. Gorgeous dark plums wrapped some high quality cigar tobacco – spicy, rich, savory, sweet…. All the boxes are checked here. Yes, some pretty big tannins are there but there is enough front end material to make this all work in harmony. If you bought the 19 Lorenzo, you are in for a major treat.

Bright and vibrant. You can taste the Carignane in the background. Good pairing with grilled beef.

Baby killing here, but this is deep, rich, balanced and loaded with tasty red and blue fruit. Will only get better.

Really enjoyed this bottle. Balanced tannins and acidity. Good depth. Drop cherry and slight leather
