Quite light in colour. Popcorn and buttered toast on the nose, but not obtrusive. A bit reductive nose, a lot of potential and depth for such a "cheap" wine, which no doubt is due to to the wine making genius of Lafon.

This was $15 at retail closeout, and I can't argue at price. But it's not quite the value of the other vintages of the various Lafon Macons I've tried , a bit round/ripe for my taste in Chardonnay. Sweet pears, modest acidity, hint of a flinty note. Good clean white Burg, but soft finish and not anything to go looking for. B-/B

Nice clear yellow. My wife suggested a "real chardonnay". As in not a stupid oaky one. This was perfect. Lots of apple and lemon fruit. Really nice acidity. A really refreshing wine. Perfect with Calamari and pate appetizers.

Fat and clumsy compared to a Puligny Montrachet village from Carillon drunk at the same time.

Best showing so far, very pungent open nose of butter and wood. Full bodied, good concentration, well integrated acid and medium finish.

Same note as before, perhaps a touch more open and buttery. Good almost tannic grip. Very good value for money!

Sweet, ripe, a bit Californiaesque, but with good length and some interesting floral/mineral notes. B
