Appearance: deep ruby with dark red hues. Quite opaque. Med+ bodied Nose: blackberries, plum, quite jammy dark fruits mingled with some black pepper, cedary oak. Not too spicy, tannins are velvety and plentiful.
It's not bad, though prob bit one dimensional.

Palate: Dry, medium+ acidity. Medium, smooth slightly chalky tannins. High alcohol, medium body medium intensity, medium+ finish. Tomato leaf, plumb, cooked blackcurrant, cherry, vanilla.
This wine is of very good quality. There is a good spread of primary fruit, balanced by acidity and some secondary aromas adding complexity. The length and depth of the finish adds to this. For the wine to be of outstanding quality it would have needed more primary fruits and a longer finish.
This wine is suitable for bottle ageing, there is enough fruit and acidity and the tannins are likely to integrate better over time.

Quite open. Rich Barossa fruit, dry, but generous, you sense the old vines. Good spice here, manly stuff, black olives, good, chewy tannin. Needs some serious meat. #podcast
