Quite light ruby with notes of brown, seems a bit aged. The nose is also veerging on tertiary tones with tobacco, warm earth/bricks and cedar, but also with a fine and fresh chery tone. Medium to full bodied attack, sweet cherry fruit up front that soon gives way to a more heady and tannic mid palate. The dry mouthfeel weakens after a short while, lettting a fresh, almost raspberrry tone emerge on the finish. The aftertaste is long, fresh and raspberry-like. Very elegant. A fascinating wine that combines a rather brutal dryness with a fresh fruit in the aftertaste that is almost reminiscent of a good, simple burgundy. Not for cellaring, but who knows, this wine has an axcellent trackrecord for aging.

Quite backward, needed some time to open up. The bouquet is pretty precise with sour cherries, olive tapenade and other savory notes. The palate is pure with good grip and strong, but refined tannins. Give this wine 2-3 more years in the bottle and enjoy it over the 1-2 decades.

Palate: Dry, high acidity, med+ tannins (dusty), high alcohol, med+ body, med+ intensity, black tea, savoury tannins, strawberry, woody, med+finish. Overall, this is a very good wine. Very savory (black olive) and elegant, Drinks perfectly now.

A bit tight - definitely drank too young. Good fruit once it opened up. Earthy tones, leather in the nose, full body, good balance. Strong acidity and tannins - I don’t think this is showing as much as it is capable of - will revisit in a few years.

A bit of dried fruit, damson, dark berries, also dry undergrowth, and I detect some damp cardboard. There is a little more fruit on the palate but it is tight and uncompromising. Some warm sour cherries with drying tannins and a dry tree bark texture. Feels like a touch of cork, perhaps? I have had better bottles.

earthy nose with hints of red fruit. silky on the palate, red fruit, orange peels, good balance with the oak. medium + acidity. classic sangiovese, medium tannis. no sweetness

I agree with other reviewers that this wine is clearly pre-peak. It’s tight and needs some time to unwind. But it drinks well enough now that I would order it at a restaurant. It tastes modern and polished, substituting floral, sweet berry, and oak flavors for the savory complexity of traditional sangiovese. The texture is smooth, with tannins an afterthought. Currently, I am fonder of this producer’s Rancia bottling, but tastes change, and I predict I will say the opposite ten years from now.

Mini Felsina Event (Minneapolis, MN): Complex wine showing wood, leather, clove, dust, raspberries and iron. Long finish and good acidity. Wonderful showing on the young side.

Russk. Liked from the 2022 WS Grand Event. Opens with a green note (not unlike CF), then some iron and a touch of char on the barrel. Lightbodied. A bit of pleasant bitterness on the finish. A classic.

Really too tight to enjoy at first, but well served by decanting. Started to be enjoyable about 2.5 hours and several aeration’s in. Really pleasant now at 4+ hours.
Red r fruit, but with some underlying savory sweet flavors like herbs and balsamic. Seems like it will be fantastic in 7-8+ years. But good enough now it will be hard to wait that long…

Farven pæn tæt rød,men lidt gennemsigtig. Duften meget rødfrugtet- bitterhed - flot koncentration. Smagen har lidt sødme. Relativ tilgængelig. Fin koncentration. Både syre og tannin. Sødme i en god lang eftersmag

Too young. But one can taste the potential. Ruby red. Cherries in the nose as you would expect from sangiovese. The palate has not yet integrated the tannins and has to much acidity. After two hours it all got a lot better. For sure minimum 93 points in 5 years from now. 90 points now.

Some way off being ready to drink, this is a bit tense and overwhelmed by sour rhubarb acids. That said, once it opens up after a few hours, the pretty red berry fruit and lovely herbal notes give a lot of confidence for the future. One to try in another 5 years.

Strong earthy first notes, nearly over powering, and I found the oak and dark berry secondary aromas to be disjointed too. Is this too early to drink? Quite possibly. But at this mid RM200s price point, we certainly expected a lot more from this Felsina. Nevertheless it was a super boozy and laid back afternoon with E and Z, and their wonderful cakes and cheeses too ?

A beautiful beast and one of the best Sangioveses I’ve ever tasted. Ruby red color with rich and intense tones. Variety of aromatic herbs accentuated with generous notes of tobacco and wet earth, black currant and licorice.

First couple hours came across a bit coarse. Softens into bright dusty cherry, a bit of spice but not very earthy.

Great stuff, needed a few hours to dispense with a slight sur maturé note. Full bodied with middle eastern spices through the long finish.
Should age well

From 375. Would rate higher but for a bit too much oak, though tastefully done.
