Shared this with my wine group at an Indian restaurant. Opened, but not decanted for about 45 minutes before pouring. This was delicate/restrained, (and I never use this word, but others in the group did), austere.

Easy fare, excellent before and with dinner. Drink the first day. Light structure but good balance, casual drink just right for Spring / Summer. Tasty blue fruits, grenache forward.

This drank well as a pop and pour. Normally I would have aged this a bit longer but this was the only thing I wanted to open with pizza. A good bistro style drink. Good fruit with a hint of funk. I’m curious what this would be like in 10 years but it would be foolish to wait and see.

Youthful Rhône blend in the typical Ridge style: moderately intense, American oak, low acidity, some tannins. Drink now or hold for 5 years or so. 59% Syrah, 27% Grenache, 14% Mataro.

Medium ruby. Black cherries, cedar and chocolate on the nose. On the palate high acidity medium alcohol, medium well integrated tannins, black fruits pepper and sage, long finish. Very good, one minor quibble with the acidity which throws it a bit out of balance, but a great food wine. Will improve further but drinking well now.

PnP. Color is deep opaque garnet. On the nose: Pepper, plum, cassis, sour funk, black olives and tar. On the palate: Plum, violets, olive, beef blood and raspberry. This is rich and smooth. Very nice wine.

Opened the bottle about one hour before drinking. 59% Grenache, 27% Syrah, 14% Mataro. 15 months in American oak. Deep purple color. The nose is delicious purple black fruit with buttered pastry. The palate is smooth and reminds of a blackberry pie. Balanced, fruity, and with a decent amount of acid. Some tannin but not aggressive. Delicious now, but complexity level suggests it won’t get better. Why wait?

Every time I have a Ridge wine that has Mataro in it, I enjoy it. So why don't I buy it more often?? Sometimes I'm just not sure what food will go with it. Anyway, I had a bottle with my wine group at a Turkish restaurant. It was a 2007 Chateauneuf-du-Pape tasting, and I threw in a young American wine just for kicks. This was a big hit with everyone. It was opened, but not decanted for over an hour before we poured it. I think it is ready to drink now.

Oh my gosh this was good. More refined than I expected - less of a new world chateauneuf and more a refined, well made drink. Good acidity, this went very well with burgers and Foundation.

Opaque purple. Nose is very meaty, olive brine, blackberries, blueberries, and a hint mint. Full bodied, fruity, dare I say almost jammy, spot on acidity. Palate is full of fresh and ripe fruits. Blackberries, blueberries, dark cherries, currants, and cranberries. Spices and bit of a smokiness develops on the mid palate with moderate tannins. Long finish of fruit, smoke, and a lighter than normal ridge oak profile. There is more residual sugar here than what I normally expect from a Ridge wine.
Overall, I found this enjoyable especially with food. I suspect this would have paired better with spicy BBQ.

Initially this should fairly reduced. Shocking for a Ridge wine these days but welcome honestly. It shows quite a bit more structure and density than this bottling has shown the last few years. BY the third night open the reduction has completely faded. Shows dark saucy berry fruit on the nose. Similar on the palate. Somewhat fat but there seems to be just enough acidity. Fine grip yet substantial grip. This is still more Cali Rhone than Rhone Rhone but I would lay this down for a bit honestly. Usually this bottling is just sort of a any person friendly fruit show. This vintage has some guts.

This was okay yet again. Drank over two days. It showed some potpourri , some orange and some gaminess. Nothing remarkable.

This is in a good place. I liked that it had nice acidity but richer fruit than a typical Rhone. Nice wine for the price. I would get this again.

59% syrah, 27% grenache, 14% mataro. Opened 1 day prior to serving. PNP into Riedel tasting glass (“Flower” day): medium ruby with purplish hues.
Rich purplish cherry fruits, organic and ripe and elegant fruit style. Floral notes.
Really enjoyable and complex style.
94 points.
