This was a pretty good showing for this bottle; still big and ripe, but starting to come around; ripe cherry and black raspberry alongside some plum and the beginnings of some savory and sous bois notes; still a decent amount of structure, but buffered enough that the balance is not bad; certainly not an elegant Chambolle, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Jon's Birthday 2017 (Kallang Way Extra Space): Tasted blind. Drank from decanter after 1 hour of air. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose overwhelming aromas of nail varnish and lacquer. Aggressive swirling reveals medium+ intensity, aromas of black fruit, mint and cola. Developing. on the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), medium- tannins, medium body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of dark red cherries, black cheries, vanilla, mint, cola. Medium finish. Possibly volatile acidity fault marring the experience. Simple Pinot profile. Modern styled clearly. I was guessing an Oregon Pinot Noir actually.

Slow-ox 30 minutes, tasted over 1 hr; from 375mL, bottle from secondary market -dark red no bricking -rich dark berry/cherry/plum, oak -med/med- acidity, med weight, relatively simple ripe black cherry/berry without surmaturite some earthy mature elements starting to creep in, med tannins and noticeable oak on finish -in a good drinking window (this bottle a little more advanced than another opened recently), rich for a Chambolle village wine, modern style a bit heavy-handed with the oak but not over-ripe and it retains good balance blessed from the vintage, in sum this is more representative of the producer and the vintage than it is of its terroir

Really fantastic tonight. Opened up at 2 hours. Complex nose of mushrooms, roses, lavender, baking spice, and black cherry. Palate is a mouthful of sweet rich prunes and blackberry fruit and integrated oak. Nice warm finish. Drinking very well for an 05.

Had this with their Morey St Denis 2005. First 90 minutes, this showed very little. 2nd 90 minutes showed too much wood. After 3 hours in decanter, it developed a compelling nose which kept me coming back for refills. Texture was always very silky, but the nose and palate took time. I will wait for many years on the others in my cellar.

Really quite remarkable for a village wine. Beautiful cherry and cranberry nose and on palate with noticeable earthiness, good acidity and structural tannins that say give this more time either in the cellar or decanter. This is simply a great value and drinks far beyond its pedigree. Next bottle in 6 months. Glad I have 7 more.

4 years since I had my first bottle. Based on the previous note, not much has changed. This is a 'big' Chambolle. Not Calif big, not Kistler big, but big for Chambolle. Some tannin on the back end, drinkable in a 'big-young' pinot way. Gonna let the rest sleep for another 4 years and check again.

Very tight nose and not giving much away on the palate either. Some kirsch royal, cranberry, earth, leather and spicy flavours came around after 4 hours of decanting. Amazing that a village wine can be so closed down after 5 years. Hold or decant 4-5 hours! 89++

I have hesitated to open 2005 red burgundies but have been assured by knowledgeable people in the US adn UE that they can be decanted (!) and drunk now, especially the entry level wines. The sommelier at Tru assured me that the CM from Minot would evolve. In 2 hours there was not even a tiny bit of fruti emerging. the class of the wine is unmistakeable --rich, dark frit center, elegant outer ring, sull finsh, but al closed. I would let this age for anotehr 5 years.

Bright and clear ruby. Nose towards the red fruit spectrum (cherries, cranberries). Good quantity of fruit, also some acid and a hint of tannin in there. Surprisingly, a little more tannic than an '05 Fourrier GC VV that I had last week. Also a little 'earthier' and 'muskier'. Not quite as juicy and hedonistic. Probably a more 'serious' wine. I really enjoyed it, another tasty '05. But those looking for a light and easy village Chambolle should look elsewhere. I'd have pegged this as a 'better' Gevrey or Vosne.

Much more fruit forward than I expected. Closed at first, then serious black cherry flavored. Good acidity and backbone. Delicious!

Delicious, but little too much oak and modern in style to my taste. Missing the classic purity and elegance of CM.
