I still rate this as a very nicely balanced pinot. It has aged well and even though it shows it is near the end of it's drinking window, it still has some legs in it. Has red fruit and currant with a nice oak finish and a bit of tobaco. Wish I had more in stock.

earth and soil driven nose, which is very attractive, but there is still a bit too much sweetness or lack of tannin to fully win me over.I love the flavors, but the texture was a bit of a let down. Gets even sweeter over a few days in the decanter. Still a good bargain and a nice wine, but not as firm as I remember at the tasting room- I think all those bubbles skewed my judgment!.

Tried at the winery on my way through Anderson Valley. Surprised by other tasting notes. I thought this Pinot was a classic French style Pinot with a nice currant and balanced oak flavor. This wine will age well. Here are the winery tasting notes which I agree with: Black currant, prunes describe the first aromas, with some light vanilla from barrel agin. Good tannin structure; acidity is present to sustain that structure. The finish is very smooth and long on delicate vanilla oak notes.

Upon opening, I caught large wafting scents of strawberry and raspberry jam. Purchased direct from the winery about a year ago. Decanted for 90-minutes.
Bright strawberry fruit and heavy floral elements on the nose. A very strong and delightful Anderson Valley Pinot nose typical of the region. Unfortunately, on the palate this wine disappoints. It’s lacking backbone; light, non-existent tannin structure and a bit watered down; flavors are slightly disjointed. It does have a decent berry fruit finish that lingers for around 30s. This wine pairs well enough with not over strong food stuffs, given its low alcohol non-overbearing demeanor. Overall, a good if mediocre effort.

Good pinot nose, not much pinot flavor.

A little disappointing after the tasting at the winery. Better as the bottle opened, but a little flat.

Anderson Valley Tastings; 8/15/2007-8/16/2007 (Anderson Valley, Mendocino County): Sweet blackberry and black currant nose leads to a restrained pinot with good acidity but there is not enough going on in addition to the fruit to hold this wine up.
