More balanced than previous bottle, though not as much complexity. Didn't spend much time on the wine as it was shared at a dinner and I only got a couple glasses. Went very well with a lamb osso bucco. I think it's hitting or passing it's peak.

I paired this wine with two appetizers: (1) brie topped with cherry chutney on crackers and (2) figs stuffed with goat cheese and topped with bacon. On its own this wine is very light (almost too thin) with subtle hints of cherries and cola. When tasted with the appetizers - the flavors of the Pinot became more complex and showed greater depth. It even seemed to possess more "weight" on the palate. Definitely a wine to enjoy with food.

Sipping this wine while at the Wrigley family private ranch on the back side of Catalina Island. Nice complex wine. Thin on color. Floral nose with some Cinnamon and vanilla. The palate was a little dark on opening the bottle and really opened up after about 20 minutes. I think this wine needs a couple more years. Nice sower cherries on the start and this wile was fresh and complex at the same time. Lots of flavors and they were balanced. The tannins were just right. The transition had some eucalyptus and black olives. The finish was long and smooth but went a little to earthy for me. Overall a good wine and you should try it.

Light ruby color. Damp leaves and wet pine on the nose with some soft cherry and mushroom. Lovely. Earthy cherry on the palate with some juicy seaweed, light cream, and a nice stone minerality. Relatively long finish...some peppery heat. Acidity is a little on the light side for me. Overall a very nice PN. Soft, earthy, and wonderfully drinkable.

Very opaque red in color, so thin it looks like cherry juice. The nose is absolute cherry with a hint of vanilla. It hits the palate as a blast of tart cherries, with a side of wood chips doused in vanilla syrup. It's a very light-bodied wine, with a smooth finish. One of my first PN's so not sure how it compares.

2/18/08 - Very light appearance...and nice lighter taste to go with it. This is my first delve into Pinot Noirs - very nice change from my normal cabs, but still a touch 'bigger' than a white. Also, a GREAT red for those white drinkers who may want to venture to the darker side fo things.

Tasty pinot from the Schug Woot offering. Nice taste of tart cherry. Nice light appearance, paired well with spicy tuna rolls. Probably could have aged a bit with improvement but needed to dig into this Woot three pack. I'll save the Merlot instead.

OUTSTANDING This hits my 90 mark for a couple of reasons.
1) This wine, you can see right through. Obviously Schug is worried about the wine and the process and not the color.
2) Laid back and drinkable, this is the way a Pinot Noir should taste. This is not your California bad ass, which I do love, but it is a laid back, restrained beauty tha would go excellent with a goat cheese salad as it is restrained enough to let the cheese flavor rise to the top of the palate. A mouth watering combination!
3) It reminds me of a great GPR Bourgogne.
If you can get ahold of a 1/2 case I would recommend for the price. $18.00 club price.

An easy drinking smooth light bodied Pinot. What can I say, it has no rough corners even if light on acceleration. A Toyota Camry of a Pinot Noir.
