The nose on this pinot was divine. The palate was heavy and slightly extracted. The profile was much darker fruit than the 2010 normal Resonance that we also drank. I would not have guessed this was the same winery.

Pinot Noir from the main regions (Jason and Mary Ellen's House): Pop and pour, drank a glass at a wine dinner. This has fluffy fruit, and is slightly on the sweet side. Quite fresh. It would appear that their glass stoppers don't really let the wine age as expected?

Decanted 2 hours. Some muddy sediment. Deep, dark, opaque color with a very thin clear rim. Very ripe nose of black cherry pie, lavender, licorice, and plum compote carry over into the lavishly rich flavors of cooked down black fruit and Indian spices. Just adequate acidity and evident alcohol dictate that this is best served on the cool side. Obvious and flamboyant but unquestionably luscious and delicious, I think this should be drunk soon. Now to 2015.

Less of a fruit bomb than when I had had this wine before. I am generally wary of '06 Oregon Pinot's, since my palate is more Old World, but this wasn't so overdone that I couldn't enjoy it with grilled artichokes and a corn and smoked salmon salad. Have a couple of bottles left, which I will finish off within the next year.

Consumed at Wild Ginger, Seattle, WA with Mike S. Unbelievable. Did a bit of research on CT with Wild Ginger's on-line wine list and decided to give this a try. One of the best bottles of anything I've had. On the nose, tons of fruit - blackberry, black cherry and black raspberry mingle with flowers and spice box. Much more of the same on the palate - an amazing mouth feel and just darn tasty. Last bottle available or I would have had another.

Very dark... Nose is a bit subdued right now but showing cherry, raspberry and spice aromas. Very saturated on the palate, ripe but balanced. A great 2006 with a long life ahead of it.

Decanted 2 ½ hr’s. Reticent and dense nose, not giving off much. Very deep, dense and layered black cherry and black berry flavors with a light touch of violet that coat the palate. Dark spices, some cinnamon, light tar and chocolate notes are revealed towards the back of the palate. At this stage, the flavors are not quite as complex as the regular bottleing, but it’s the depth and intensity that are the focus here. Full bodied and thick with tannins, this finishes long and full. A powerful and intense wine that should reward with a lot of cellar time.

Medium dark purple, violets on the nose.
Fruit has receded ever so slightly, resulting in a nicely balanced wine. Modest acidity, lingering finish.

The Blind Crew at Sundried Tomatoe Cafe (Sundried Tomatoe Cafe, San Juan Capistrano): Hot nose showing baked veggies, celery and meat. Big rich meaty palate that is very hot. No way to guess Pinot blind here.
