  • I thought this was really delicious and in the ballpark with Sandlands and Beau Rivage among the top top domestic Chenins I’ve had the pleasure to enjoy.

Opens with some eggshell reduction and a bit of fuzzy wool on the nose, blowing off to reveal a somewhat leesy wine with honey and green apple slices. It’s energetic and lithe on the palate, and blossoms into day #2. Great value.

  • This may be John’s best effort yet. What a fantastic wine. Initially shy on the nose and palate, it takes about 45 minutes and warming to 60° to come alive with wonderful gardenia and classic Jurassic Park seashell and hay aromatics, and brings the electricity with lemon, lime, honey, tangerine peel, fennel stalk, cardamom, and warm sand on the crisp palate. Lengthening finish with air. Give this a couple, but wow, this is awesome.

  • Really lovely and lively wine. Crisp with some lemon zest but lingering palate that rounds out. Definitely acidic citrus and a few other notes I can't place. Got better with each glass. Next time will decant for a bit.

  • Chilled, decanted and then served after 45 minutes. Very lively nose of lemon and lime zest. Electric palate, very Chablis-like and built in the same style as their Citrine Chardonnay. Super clean lines and very enjoyable. Will probably develop some secondary notes with time, but hard to resist now.

  • Holy moly. As if a Viognier and a Chablis had a love-child. Floral, but never in that annoying spray-the-room-with-Glade-way that Viognier tends to do (or rather, should that be like my wife's headache-inducing scented candles?). No, none of that - this is perfectly round, light and ethereal and impeccably balanced. None of those annoying bitter or oxidative notes - just pure clean grace. Easily one of the best whites I've had from California. Well done.
