  • Excellent wine! Great character and complexity.
Looking forward to getting another bottle so I can analyze it more carefully

  • A: Deep ruby with purple highlights
N: medium (+) nose of prunes….very port-like, sun dried tomatoes, bramble jam, overripe banana?, Smokey black fruit, fig jam, clove, baking spice, Mexican chocolate, eucalyptus (maybe menthol), medicinal
P: Dry (very. It would be sweeter than this elsewhere in the NW), medium (+) acidity, medium (+) ripe tannins felt on gum line and upper part of mouth like the red carmenet grapes, high alcohol, pronounced intensity, full body, medium (+) length
    Tasty!
Boy that acid is just the the ticket for balance with this jammy fruit. Intensity is excellent and carries the good finish through delivering a busy bot not complex finish. Fruit is powerful but some staunch savory notes here. Not a Californian wine. This wine is of very good quality. Better defined aromatics of the non-fruit components and a longer finish would have made this a higher quality.

This grape clearly has affinity for oak here and with the acidity and tannin to protect it, this wine is suitable for ageing. Would love to see where it goes next.
