France Trip-Loire Valley and Paris; 10/22/2012-10/28/2012: Medium ruby with pale edge. Sour cherry smell. Lighter weight, faded tart cherries blended in with some earth and a bit of bacon. Seems fully mature. Very pretty, well made Loire Pinot.

8/10 - Great spicy earthy aromas with nice red berries and cherries. Smooth elegant mouthfeel and a nicely balanced acidity. While new world diehards may have preferred the fruit being a little more forward and fussy drinkers may have wanted a little more complexity, most drinkers will agree with me that this is an enjoyable wine.
Drank at Restaurant Andre by the glass.

Fuller color and darker profile than the Gaudry drunk side to side. Cherry and other red fruits and some herbal and floral notes along some dark fruits and a very light touch of wood (or at least it feels like). Palate is a little disapointing compared to the nose lacking in the mid palate and on the finish. While this is certainly not bad, this is not a $30 sancerre and should be $15.

taste: attractive and elegant lighter feel with earthen tones, bits of earth spices, berries, and red florals. Good medium+ acidity backs this up and gives it a nice backbone
overall: has a nice beaunish quality to it. Attractive and light on its feet with a real good berry attack on the mid palate. Very nice finish, this is well worth checking out and very enjoyable

Didn't have time to decant it and it showed. Beautiful nose of forest floor, mushrooms and cherry with a whiff of oak. The palate never got the chance to shine. it shows a slightly grainy texture with a light to med body with nice balance though. You could feel it was trying to show more.

Deep bright ruby. Nice ripe plummy fruit, but not much complexity on the nose. Quite light and earthy in the mouth. Pale red cherry fruit. Well balanced but not much to it. 2+

Loire in de breedte - Dordtse wijnclub (Bij jeroen thuis, Dordrecht): Licht- tot robijnrood van kleur. In de neus volop viooltjes, wat aarde. In de smaak rood fruit, aarde, cederhout en specerijen. Frisse, mediumlange afdronk.

Dry & earthy flavor. Leather, beeswax aroma. Pleasant, long finish.

Loire Valley Wine Commission (The W Hotel, Chicago IL): nose: lovely and balanced nose of earth tones, berries, red florals, spices, and small bits of red cherries. Good depth and has a good restrained quality to it
