Deep garnet, almost brownish colour. Aeration is required. A perfume for my nose. Can be sniffing for hours finding new aromas. Among many others: sandalwood, stew meat, blackberries, game, artichokes . In many aspects, a very Rioja-like, a very Graciano bottle with that oxidised style. Elegant, delicate even. Lovely acidity. Never alcoholic. Some sediments. Can't deny this is a wine of class and distinction.

Strawberry fields nose with nice barnyard complexity; smooth palate; fine ripe tannins well integrated. Good acidity and balance. Good finish. Surprisingly the star of the night among six Australian 1999s.

Forward nose of dark cherry liqueur. Less complexity but more advanced age that the bottle I had two months ago. Tannins well integrated. Good acidity and length.

Forward nose of dark cherry liqueur, oak and touch of ripe strawberry. Tannins still dominate the palate; very structured wine, almost heavy. There is some mineral complexity too. Good acidity and length. Drank over three days and it kept getting better. I would give this one another 2 to 3 years and try again.

Animalistic nose, still big and round on the palate with medium finish.

Look quite brown, nose of animal, leather. Blast of liquorice in the mouth, then long finish on red fruit and bitter herbs.
