Vino de color picota muy oscuro e intenso. Aroma muy intenso con fruta roja, especies y pizarra. La boca también es muy intensa y poderosa, equilibrada por la acidez, la madera está presente sin agobiar. Final bastante largo. Un excelente priorato

Asphalt, tar, freshly chopped tarragon, black licorice, ripe black cherries, ripe dark plums on the fruit-backward nose. So fruit backward that I would probably blind this as Monastrell/Mourvèdre. The palate is a little fruitier; but not much. Flavors are consistent with the aromas. Intensity of flavors and aromas are both medium +. Nice long finish driven by the tar.
Medium + body with medum tannin and a really nice long finish. I'm impessed by how nice this is at age 4, and you could definitely drink it now. That said, 2-3 more years won't hurt it either.

Mark supplied for Xmen tasting this week, and drank blind. Surprised many that this was a Spanish wine - Most guessed Rhone or Calif. Berries on the nose, big and jammy on the palate. Concentration of grenache in this wine was very noticeable, as was the weight of this wine (14.5% alcohol) and was commented on by all. Oak not particularly apparent. Lots of fruit and spice here. This is a food wine for sure! Interesting wine

Clear ruby. Floral, strawberry, redcurrant, cranberry, wood., mint. Very youthful, tannin is smooth and acidity is balancing. Smooth and has a lot to show. Lots of potential ahead.

Boxing Day lunch (Restaurant George WPA, Amsterdam, NL): A very unusual blend for this wine in this heatwave year of 82% Garnacha, 17% Carinena an 1% white varieties. Destemmed, fermened in oak and concrete with indigenous yeasts, aged for 12 months in French oak, 14.5% ABV. Silky and creamy, red berries and flowers, juicy and minerally, mild tannins have a fine grain, spicy schist, polished and bright, lovely balance and elegance in spite of its weight (14.5% ABV), just a hint of oak on the finish, very good resonance and length.

Nose of violets. Fresher and more fruit-driven than I remember from prior years; surprised to read this year it’s largely grenache & samso, as I would have guessed that blending grapes like the merlot and cabernet he used in past vintages were in fact dialed up in this one. In any case ultra smooth and accented heavily with both red and black fruits.

Lifted acidity and a kiss of phenolic bitterness (perhaps a bit too much of both). But very complex and interesting.

Nice wine recommended at Pappas Steakhouse in Houston (great wine list; more than 5,000 bottles). Smooth , dark cherries.

Big and jammy on night one. On the second night it was still good but with lots of acid. Probably best in 5 years.

Garnacha e Samsò. Naso balsamico e speziato. In bocca più sapido che fresco.
