The wine doesn‘t have the best reviews here, but I found it quite good. It lay in the cellar for so many years. I think someone brought it to a party back then… Still quite balanced, tannins are there, dark fruit and some acidity. Tbh it lacks a long finish, great depth or complexity. But still a lovely surprise.

Concur with earlier review by sherwood *. This inexpensive Bordeaux, sitting in our cellar for a dozen years, was a pleasant surprise. Classic aged Bordeaux flavors in the glass, with bricking. Had with BBQ ribs and roast potatoes, and it didn't disappoint.

Purchased a case as soon as it was on the market; has been stored at 55º since then. Started drinking them in 2017. Ten bottles consumed; one was corked; the other nine were very good with the classic Bordeaux taste.

Drank this over dinner at Ban Heng, Orchard Central.
This wine opened up with fruity aroma. On the palate it has hints of red apple and black berries. Easy to drink and lacks complexity. Taste was somehow muted and tight. No length and depth in this one.
Expectations of this wine were high, considering it was from the Mouton Rothschild family and the legendary 2005 vintage.
Possibly drank this wine a little early. But could be over its drinking window as well.

Chocolate covered cherries on the nose with a bit of alcohol. Bright fruits on the mid palate and darker fruits on the finish, which is fairly long. Firm tannins tell me its still too young. With a few more years, this could easily be scored higher. Unfortunately, it's my only '05 bottle.

Still a young wine ... very fine on the start(Not harsh) with that classic bordeaux blend taste in the middle and then comming to the ending with a slight peppery flavor.. HOLD back longer in the cellar!!

Nice nose of raspberry, cherry and leather, with a touch of pencil lead. However, on the palate, was lean and lacking flavor. Didn't get much at all. Very disappointing compared to other bottles I've had from this producer.

Very unimpressive nose with hardly any noticeable flavors. A decent attack with a hint of berry, but the tannins set in too quickly, quashing any flavors that might be there. Nothing special, but an acceptable table wine.

color: blood red nose: big fruit, some hints of a white wine lurking in there mouth: fairly mellow, young, but almost off - unbalanced, hints of seafood and vegetal

Color: Deep red. Nose: Medium bodied. Red fruits witha secondary flavor of cassis. Flavor: Quite a silky mouthfeel. Finish: relatively long with nice, balanced flavors present, but it's too reserved. Good grip at the sides of the tongue though. Overall this wine has nice fundamental characteristics, but it definitely leaves you wanting more.

suprised about the variation. Decent red bordeaux. Nice flavors, although a bit thin/diluted on the palet. Still a decent bottle to quaff and can't complain about the price

Popped, poured the poured down the drain. Horrible. No nose. Dry, dusty palate. Super tannic. If there were any other tastes in this wine the tannins put them in a kimora and made them tapout in submission. Stick to $20+ Bordeaux and save the $10 purchases for Malbec and Shiraz. (CMS)

Strangely unpleasant color, almost artificial, quite light ruby-cranberry. Nose is fairly open, showing pepper, berries, and a persistent vinegar/VA note. Similar palate, with a touch of rough-cut wood. A bit thin, allowing the relatively mild alcohol to come forward too strongly. This wine peaked within an hour in the glass. Overall, this is drinkable wine for the $9 price tag from the local grocery store, but I would not seek it out. Drink within a couple years if you must.

Dusty tarry licorice smell and similar taste. It was better the first day when some cassis could be detected, next day mostly tar and licorice. It is actually quite smooth but there is tarry, green finish (with decent tannins) that bothers me a bit. It could actually soften in a year or two and the score could improve. 83-84

Deep garnet color, cherry, dark berry fruits, mineral/earth nose. Little balance or character, just an OK table wine. This one's a pass - better value '05 Bordeaux's. foodandwineblog.com

Nice ruby color, bright looking. Friendly nose with hints of typical Chateau-like smell, however, short on the palate. Some basic currant and black fruit, but otherwise not much. Friendly, drinkable wine with a short finish.

Bordeaux characteristics, dark garnet, jam on the nose, light as a feather on the palate with the dryness to match - heavy tannins! heat on the finish. Very interesting, but I prefer a bit more fruit.

Great wine for $7.99!!! Nice fruits and a good balance of tanins...I think it would age well and might pick up a case to see how it does. heck, for the money, cannot go wrong!

Really nice color, fairly tight nose -- some red cherry. Red cherry, a little cranberry upfront. No real middle, although that's when the tannins appear. Moderate to moderately strong tannins ; slight oak notes but mostly a black cherry finish of moderate length, hinting at licorice. A slight bitterness as the aftertaste fades.

very bright and acidic, almost like a chianti. sour cherry. lots of acidity. ok for something cheap to go with casual food, just borderline as a value play. Not as good as the 04.

Not really fair to rate this. Needs more time in the bottle before it's really worth pulling out & seriously sampling. Very vegetal on the nose & palate with some biscuit on both the nose & the finish. Wicked tannic right now.
EDIT: Day 2 was a much more pleasant drink. More integrated & balanced.
