Not oxidized as is mentioned in several notes, and given the wine's age I am impressed it has held up so well as there is fruit and acid - but the oak renders this wine revolting and undrinkable by this Burgunian fan....

Deep golden, little nose, some acid left, caramel, oak, a bit of lemon, but a slight sourness as well, but not unpleasant; just past prime; held up well for $30

This bottle was terrific. Deep golden color, but not a hint of oxidized notes on either the nose or palate. Very fresh, with nice cleansing acidity. Flavors of caramel, apple, and pears.

Last bottle. Would have guessed it a lesser Sauzet Puligny with 20+ years age. Oak has receded somewhat, and despite a degree of maderization, good clean fruit lingers on the midpalate. Far from a perfect bottle; perhaps there were none in this vintage. Nothing left to wait for.

Belated report. Tasted 10/07 and 12/07. Both times oaky, rich and heavy, acid-deficient. Just found one last bottle. Maybe a final TN to close the book on this one.

Well the good news is this tastes somewhat better than it looks which is not saying much. Dark golden yellow, nose of old straw, still some acidity but this has had it. 2 other bottles are the same. DOA.

Wonderful nutty aromas and flavors, with underlying minerals -- good acid. Complex and long. As always, Mount Eden Estate Chardonnay lives up to my expectations.

Christmas Eve dinner with chicken braised in hard apple cider with apples and pearl onions. Aging very gracefully. Still among my favorite California chardonnays. Nice structure and balance, complex and long. A nice lemony quality with a mineral backbone. Beautiful wine.

A bit oxidized but some was left of a very good chardonnay.

This bottle was darkly golden colored with an old, oxidized nose. I sure hope the rest of case is better. Try again soon.
