Super qpr! Big ripe fruit with blackberry, plum and black cherry. Nicely balanced barrel notes with vanilla, leather, earthy and some spice. The tannins are dusty and mellow and balances nicely with the big fruit. I would like some more acidaty to lift it a bit, but at this pricepoint, this is a good by.

Our first bottle of this vintage. It has a dark colour, and medium weight, spicy, blackberry fruit. Slightly smoky, with a little tannin. Still quite young, but good to drink now.

Very good rendition of this classic wine. One hour decant. Great color; classic Guigal nose; somewhat modern tasting on the palate, pure fruit with some backbone, nice balance. I put this ahead of recent vintages, but not quite at the level of the '14-'15-'16 trifecta. Worthy of a case purchase. (88-89).
ADDENDUM: Eight days later from sealed and refrigerated 1/2 bottle: Dark ruby. Nose is faint but drinking really well. Nice.

Medium to dark purple color. Dark cherry and spice bouquet. Rich fruit entry, good grip, concentrated, and moderate tannins flavor. Slightly warm, medium long finish. This is a step up from the 2019 vintage. More depth and intensity of flavor. Really good value.

brvino Wine Tasting #2 - Côtes du Rhône (blind) (brvino Undergraduate Wine Club at UCLA): Colour closer to wine number 2. The nose is more restrained than the others. However, I find it pretty and floral. I get violet, strawberry, and some tobacco. Slightly stewed quality that is more or less shared among CdRs I’ve tried so far. I get some light cedar. On the palate, the tannin and acidity are medium+. There are notes of nectarine, cherry, and red plum. The finish has a very long aftertaste of stewed strawberry with tobacco. 7/18

Drank at the Row Xmas dinner. Much enjoyed with beef short rib. Not much tannin. Cherry flavour. Nice and rich. Very good value for a big dinner group.

On the nose: smoke, vanilla, bit of baking spice, and some plum. Tastes: Fig, leather, smoke. Has a bright acidity and strongy tannins. It's quite concentrated. I'd say slightly too alcoholic, but just barely. I wouldn't go as far to say it's harsh. EDIT: Let it breathe for an hour and you also get notes of green pepper, and olive, and is more jammy which is more interesting to me.

Deep ruby, with high viscosity. S: dark fruits but still remaining fresh, a little spice, with a bit of vanilla. T: dry tannins, and high acidity with a full bodied and silky feel. Ripe blackberries, and a little rosemary.

Poured a medium red color wine with some good amount of character with some dark cherry notes and a dry finish. Good quality versus price ratio.
