Bottle was put in play by review by Tim M, suggesting to drink now. He‘s right (thank you!). But it’s fine. This wine is in a great spot now.
Seductive, straight out the bottle. No sharp edges, when reaching the nose. Ripe plums dominate, alcohol is present, even if not intrusive. The mouth is very velvety and smooth. Plum compote again, some licorice. Alcohol recedes. Lingers quite long.
Will this one hold another decade ? I doubt. Will it collapse in the next two years ? No. Will it get better ? Unlikely. Put remaining bottles high on the ready-to-drink list and enjoy while they last.

I feel like the first bottle I drank was more funky and olive heavy. A little uneven a few years ago. This was beautifully balanced and seamless from fruit to secondary flavors. Exactly what I hoped it would be.

Decanted 2+ hours. Bold and meaty but lacked complexity and fullness. Bought this years ago based on WS 95 rating. Certainly didn't live up to that for us. Will let the other bottle age a few more years.

Not decanted, consumed using GlassVin Universal stems. The appearance was ever so slightly muddy looking, almost as if I had disturbed a bunch of sediment. That didn't detract from the enjoyment, however. Very pretty nose with blackberry, licorice, and a touch of pepper. There was a very slight detraction of alcohol on the nose, but not enough to be offensive. On the palate, this had a very unmistakable kalamata olive note playing with the rich dark fruit (plum, blackberry). This isn't a meaty Syrah in the style of Rocks Syrah, but more of a briny, saline type of Syrah, which I really enjoyed. Drink now, but this will also hold for 5-7 years easily. Delicious and interesting wine.

Clear deep dark cherry; clean medium plus nose of jammy red cherries and blackberries, cigar box, garrigue and leather; dry; medium plus acidity; medium plus tannins; high alcohol; medium plus body; pronounced flavour intensity; palate is slightly tarter with addition of cocoa and black licorice; long finish; drinking well now but has another 5+ years; no decant required; concentrated, velvety wine - reminds me of a muscular hermitage

Initially wasn’t impressed - kind of underwhelming on the first night. But we waited two more days to finish the bottle and BAM! Delicious! I suggest prolonged aeration and multi-night drinking or wait at least two more years to open the bottle.
When it showed its stuff, it presented dark and deep black and blue flavors, plus an earthy tone and chocolaty finish. Nice tannins and a medium to long finish. Really nice Syrah that rewards patience.

Bold and brooding, yet carries a silky texture that becomes more prominent along the way. Meaty and substantial, dark fruits, iron, forest floor, licorice. While the tannins are big and the finish is dry the wine has remakable finesse. Outstanding. Decanted 2 hours.

nice, powerful, fruit-driven wine. Yet less precise and structured as the grower's Creator CabSauv + Syrah blend, which rates a few points higher while moving in a comparable price range.

Decanted five hours. You immediately know its Syrah on the nose, smells of game, violets, plums and blackberries. Purple fruits, charcuteries, stones and a subtle cracked pepper spice run across the palate. Meaty and rich without feeling weighty, just coats the mouth. Balanced by a solid acid core. Great before dinner and excellent with our meal.
Very good on night two though the fruit seemed brighter, more red than purple. This should go for another five years.

Bottle had evidently seeped at some point, as the capsule was stuck to the bottle and there was wine stains on the top of the cork. Not sure the wine was affected though, as it was delicious. Sweet blackberry and plum fruit, with notes of black pepper, tobacco and vanilla. Drink now - 2030.

A massive ball of power and finesse, enters with blackberry and red licorice, coats the mouth with a fatty viscosity, then leads in to notes of pulverized gravel, forest funk, and dusty tannins before an encore of plumb on the finish. Incredible.

Decanted 1 hour. Lovely Rocks funk on the nose along with blackberries. Black fruit, umami, grilled beefsteak, with that specific "funk" flavor showing on the palate as well. Espresso on the finish. Great wine, just starting to really shine as we finished the bottle. Really great stuff...Has a lot of time left. Drink now - 2030+.

The wine is deep purple in the glass with long legs. The nose shows dark blue fruit, herbs, and earth. On the palate the experience is deliciously savory. Deep, brooding flavors of blueberry pie, licorice, black pepper, and oak. Everything is perfectly balanced, from the flavors to the acidity to the soft tannins.

Beautiful aromatics - spice and floral. Reminiscent of sagebrush. Very spicy black and red fruit with a compote flavored (lengthy) finish with medium-minus tannins that hold on. This was better with breakfast than the night before. The mouth feel is attractive - sensuous, silky. Drank next to a Durand Cornas that was dramatically different than this but showed it up by virtue of depth and balance. The K was showier but more flash than substance. I have never been a fan of K Vintners but this is a nice wine.

Popped this because I haven't tried it yet and wanted to save my 14s. I was seriously impressed with this bottle at this price point. I think its made in a similar style to Cayuse Armada and Reynvaan In The Rocks, but without the (sometimes over the top) rocks funk. For being a 14.5% wine, the alcohol was most definitely integrated and it did not come across as a hot wine. Early on the primal notes showed, with some bitter coffee on the palate that reduced into a intense and long ass finish. That bitterness blew off with 4 hours in the decanter, and I would expect this wine to integrate more with time. Charles Smith nailed on on this one, and I will be buying this wine on release for the foreseeable future. Drinking it made me ponder what it would taste like with a splash of viognier like a northern rhone.
Decanted 6 hrs. Nose was full of complex fruit notes of blueberry, black raspberry, blackberry, cherry, leather, vanilla, cola and licorice. Palate of was still fruit forward with notes of Blackberry cherry, blueberry, leather, dried clay, vanilla And fennel. Finish was very long that begins underripe blackberry then blueberry, suede leather, and finishes in oak notes of vanilla, fennel seed, and ripe cherry and cola. Drinks beautifully right now With a long decant and will only get better with some age. Now- 2032.

45 minute decant. Heavy nose of smoke, jerky, charred meat and earth. Some dark fruits but not primary. Taste very similar. This one definitely leans to the smoke and meat side on flavor. Medium plus body. Relatively high acidity. Memorable but suffers from lack of fruit flavors. About 89.

This was an enjoyable mid level Syrah from K paired with flank steak in a garlic/butter crust and beef empanadas. Poured a rich dark purple with a forceful bouquet of blackberries, charred meat, some barbecue smoke, and assorted black fruit. Somewhat disjointed on the palate with lack of direction. Good dark fruit, meat tones, and a somewhat forgettable finish. Was not overly impressed with the Powerline.
Certainly not in the same league as K's stellar and memorable Hidden Northridge or Hustler offerings. Certainly worth ponying up the extra Benjamin's for the premium offerings IMHO. Wanted to like this a lot, but just not comparable to K's top of the line Syrah's......
On a side note ... these Syrahs typically show better with some age. Could be improvement here with time in bottle.

Decanted for an hour. The nose offers a panoply of ostentatious scents, like blueberry, braised meat, lilac, dried shallots, marjoram and ripe raspberry. Full-bodied, whilst remaining light and gliding along; during it all the presence is known. Fine tannins and a juicy middle palate, with a long, silky, almost chiseled finish. Paradoxically this is forward, yet retains so much grace and refinement. The aftertaste echos the blueberry, raspberry and braised meat. In a nutshell: this is killer. Wait a year or decant. Drink 2020 - 2035.
