  • Wine has an incredible ability to age. The 1988 vintage at 28 years old was absolutely singing. As such, this vintage in 750 is young and demands another 5+ years to open up and express this wonderful terroir. Nose is somewhat closed and with an hour of air begins to open. No rush here and time will reward additional bottle age. Will be great in a decade.

  • Magnum. Granted, perhaps better than other vintages, but too overripe and lacking in clarity for the terroir. Tomato. 90

  • Needs patience to journey through this wine. Once popped, nose is floral, beautiful, but palate is a 180degree different with high acidity & tightness. Poured 1/3 bottle into decanter while drinking the other portion in large Grand Cru burg glasses. After 3 hr aeration in glasses, body grows bigger, with darker cherries, sweet berries, ripe raspberries, hints of liquorice, sweet spices and Visible OAKS, so much fruits, oak, ripeness, I guessed it was a 2009, i also find it new world in style at this stage too. The decanted portion (5hr in decanter) put you in a different planet - where Grip has turned velvety, all harshness, astringency disappear…as if inside a peaceful botanical garden, surrounded by intoxicating bouquets of roses, violets, flowers, also with Redder cherries, raspberries, berries fruits, earth & Vosne spices…where all the elements come together so harmoniously & well balanced. A beautiful journey.

  • Forward and pleasurable nose. Complex from entry to finish. Olives, Cherries, Tea all pulled together thru Vosne spices.
Deep color. Very rich wine. Paired well with everything we put in front of it. Roasted plum tomatoes with thyme, broccoli rabe garlic olive oil, grilled lamb chops rosemary garlic, La Tur cheese on baguette, almond cocoanut tort. Not bad for Tuesday at home.

  • Decanted 2h before starting. Tasted during 2,5h. I was expecting much more from a wine on such a terroir. after having this bottle during al those years since release in my cellar. Way to young but lacking weight for the best premier cru in Vosne and neighbour of La Tache. Fine nose and needs at least 5 or 10 years to open because it is still closed. In the nose at the end of the tasting zome Vosne spice but I had better Vosne 2005's. Rather modern style this wine. Not wurth the price, some traditionalists offer better 1 cru for less money.

  • PnP. Floral and clean, just not as intense as previous bottle 2 years ago. Still slightly elevated acidity, firm/dry mid-palate, tannins yet to be resolved. Oaks are less obvious, no heat at finish with ABV 13.5%. Good length and concentration. Approachable but should continue to evolve positively.

  • PnP. Fantastic nose, floral and clean. Wow, 95 pts for the nose. On the palate is different story, high acidity, firm mid-palate and slight heat at finish, obviously not ready. Shows better on the palate on the 2nd day, sweet and smooth. A touch too much oak masking the terrior though. This should be good 5 yrs down the road assuming oaks will be integrated, probably better than '06 and '11 tasted before. 91-93 pts. (B)
