Decanted, tasted over 3 hrs -moderate bricking -expansive rich warm earthy mature and some spice elements -med acidity, med weight/concentration, perfectly mature expansive enveloping palate with remnants of dark berry and garrigue-spice mostly earthy mature elements and nearly fully integrated tannins with only trace heat on the respectably long finish -very good example of a fully mature and solid CdP hitting on all cylinders

Smells like wine that as been in a leather wine boda for some time. Lot's of leather and damp earth. Sweet, fairly rich for a CDP and a little raisiny. Good fairly youthful tannins at the end balance the richness out. Could use a little more acidity but this is a reasonably priced well aged classic CDP and is worth buying as an example of how interesting these can be with some age. 90+pts

Pronounced, Classic CDP nose (Farm/funk,Leather,Earth,Garrigue). I like the comment about it tasting like a strawberry fruit roll up. Has a little jammy quality to it in a good way wiith lot's of flavor. concentrated but with decent acidity. A very nice surprise. Very good value.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape from the '80s and '90s (Tabla, Portland, OR): Open about an hour and a half. Nose shows some oak influence with some funk. Drying as I aerate in my mouth, and tasting like a strawberry fruit roll up. Very tasty. Lots of spice on the finish along with the fruit.

Great mouth feel, very soft and smooth but huge in taste and longevity. Dark dirty spices, cherry liquer, touch of espresso, decent cidity, still lots o tannins.
This is a baby and can easily kick it in your cellar for 5 to 10 years. For the roughly $30 after tax I paid a decent quality to price ratio, although obviously, NOT a fruit bomb.
