Medium red. Wow, pronounced nose has perfumed, complex and layered aromatics of bell pepper, tobacco, red currant. Medium body palate with smooth still fresh fruit with moderate acidity and soft, but still prickly tannins. Flavors on the palate echo the nose with oodles of complexity. Terrific showing.

Herbal, green notes through and through. Roasted red pepper settles down to light cassis fruit and mint, with a green streak still evident. Medium to light weight. Impressive showing, but fading.

Purchased this for the opportunity to taste a M E cab of this age. On the downside, but very pleasant nonetheless. Dominated by worn leather, soy, iodine, mineral. Totally integrated tanins -- no real tanin left! -- but plenty of acid in evidence. Fruit has largely faded, but a smooth, sweet prune note is also evident.
Fill into the neck. Cork fully saturated, but came out easily, in one piece. Cork under capsule showed signs of mold, suggesting it had been stored in a humid setting before I bought it.
Would hesitate before buying something from this vintage again without knowing that the storage was perfect. But I'm glad to have tasted this one.

Not as good as the 78 beside it, but hit all the classic cab notes

I love Mount Eden, but this was like licking a green bell pepper, then chewing it. Poured it down the drain. 60
