Brilliant bottle, at its peak probably, maybe not... decanted for 1 hours to hit it peak. Lovely aromas of citrus, white flowers and marzipan. Very long

Last of 6, opened an hour, perfect level, quarter travelled cork, even more to it than last June's bottle, just needs a bit more tension and zip to merit a very fine, no pox and bags of life. Currently F+ (18).

Just about in the perfect place right now for mine. The ripe orchard fruit aromas and flavours are nicely countered by floral spice. It is unctuous in the mouth, layered with flavour and tastes a bit like a Pine Lime Splice. It has good depth and excellent persistence.

5th of 6, pnp, perfect cork and level, another lovely bottle, broad but complex flavours with a hint of the tropics but with a nice lemon lift, probably at peak holding for 5 years. F+ (18).

Slightly mature peach and apricot with spice hints and good floral notes. Starts out ripe, finishes with very good acidity. Unexpectedly bright for Sauzet 2006, quite a treat.

4th of 6, pnp, perfect cork and level, much better bottle, fresh, real zip, but with depth and complexity of flavour missing in Monday's 02, properly mineral. Just about F+ (18)......horrible bottle variation in Sauzet's wines nice to get a goody!

3rd of 6, pnp, perfect cork and level, as last May's note, bit disjointed, broad flavours, not fine, may yet tighten and show greater minerality, faint hint of pox. VGI (17).

jäkligt runt och mogen känsla på detta vin, ganska liten syra vilket drar ner en aning tycker jag men gott är det. riktigt gott! nästan åt Mersault hållet.

Clean, fresh and powerful. Flowers, crushed rocks, smoke and exotic spice. Good acidity. Impressive length. This has definite long aging potential, provided premox does not set in.

Tasting at Le Cheri (Le Cheri, Philadelphia): Much bigger and much younger than the 02 latour puligny sous le puits. Prominent oak here, with smoke and toast sitting on top of some lingering primary fruit flavors of green apple and lemon. Big, broad mouthfeel leads into a long finish. This has a ways to go.

fully mature, and there is some good weight to this... a tad fat on opening, but at 30 minutes suddenly developed some nuance and complexity. Very integrated, rich and honeyed, but fact remains that this was an awesome drink in its first 48 months of life... white burgundy in not for keeping

1st of 6, pnp, perfect cork and level - pale yellow, waxy; floral bouquet, some lemon and pear, little minerality; medium bodied, long, refreshing, nicely balanced, broad flavours of vintage, lacking energy and nuance, scope yet to improve. VGI (17).

Still hanging on - lovely richness to the fruit, and balanced. But lacks the freshness of a few years ago. Now leaning towards toast and buttery flavours.

We had been on the road for quite some time searching for Northcote, a fabulous restaurant in the middle of nowhere, Blackburn, UK. Great sipping 'n snacking were high on our list for a lunch in the countryside. Stunning. Vanilla, caramel, minerality, freshness and a hint of oak. Perfect balance. Wow!! Yippee!!

2007 Burgundies for Brodie and Raz (Wellington, New Zealand): Light gold. A lovely bouquet of pears, nuts, white flowers, lemons and minerals, with a touch of almond croissant. This is classy, right in the zone and fully ready now. Beautiful fruit weight, good acidity and lovely tension and balance. Citric flavours, with nuts and minerals, quite detailed. An excellent Combettes.

This is very good. Can't remember having a Sauzet I liked this much for a long time. Firm grip, fleshy, peaches, and minerals that goes on for quite a while.

Meursault styled green fruits, minerals, white flowers and honeyed finish. Will be much better in 3-5 years but it's very sexy now! Lovely fresh acidity.

Light yellow gold color. The nose is a bit closed/tight at the beginning. Good minerality and sharpness in the mouth. Overall that was a very pleasant moment, specially after an hour or more in the glass. At this age it should be decanted to allow the wine to express itself.

no formal notes but I found this very approachable...excellent wine but not superior to the Sauzet PM Perrieres I had a few weeks ago which was a better QPR...assuming that applies to wines at this price point...anyway, a wonderful wine

Nothing forward or tropical about this wine. Lots of sulfur on opening, but slowly blows off. Cork was really stuck in teh neck as well - both signs that Sauzet understands just how badly they hosed their customers on premox. Still young and a bit closed in on itself, but showing hints of a much more complete wine. Tight lemon nose with minerals, anise, and spice on the palate. medium bodied, but with the spine to grow richer with age. i'll deep 6 the other 5.

This is delicious no doubt. It starts clean and pure with a wonderful fennel seed and coriander seed aroma. It is very sharp and full in the mouth, but not billowy at all, which is good. This has many similarities with the Truffieres less the aromatic nose of the latter. However, like its sibling, after some air, the wine kind of darkens and takes on a little heat and oak, slightly. I don't know too much of Sauzet, nor do I do too many White Burgs, but this wine, while delicious, has a hint of modernness- call it a Peter Michael light- that makes me wonder about how it will age. I think I will revise my note on the other bottle to be more in step with this wine as I feel a little more clear in my understanding of these, somewhat.
