One hour decant. Very very deep magenta color. Black cherry, slate, peppercorn, plum skin, sea salt laden chocolate, nutmeg, rose petals, and subtle roast beef. Smooth, dry palate, with sizzling acidity. Firm tannins on the medium long finish. 47% Mourvèdre, 35% Syrah, and 18% Grenache
Although Rhône blends are not my thing these days, this was quite good. It’s rich and clearly well made. Big thanks to Decanting Queen for the fun bottle. Melissa also thoroughly enjoyed it.
Absolutely stunning wine with a one hour decant. 47% Mourvèdre, 35% Syrah, and 18% Grenache, all putting forth their best characteristics. Seductive entry, velvety tannins, great plush mouthfeel. Dense muddled Marionberry, smokey blueberry, faint sweetened strawberry, anise and slight charcoal. Building depth with time in the glass, this is a polished, classy and hedonistic offering by Scott Hawley. Bravo.
Just like we tested at the winery. Need to give it 2 hours of decant at this stage of its life. Will wait for at least 1 year before having the next bottle.

Similar to GLENN228, I opened this early to decide whether to buy additional bottles. However I went ahead and ordered a couple more before sampling this (history with Torrin has been good). Short decant, muted nose with typical black and red fruits up front, mocha and oak. Moderate tannins. Opened up beautifully with the last couple glasses. I'm hopeful in a few years this Banshee will be as good as the stunning 2016.
Even after a 2 hour decant, too young to fully enjoy. Fruit aromas subdued, alcohol dominates on both the nose and palate. Pronounced tannins. Tried in order to evaluate additional offer from the winery but hard to tell what this wine will become. Holding our remaining bottle.

Up with the best Paso. High alcohol )15.8) but very polished (so hidden well). Juicy raspberry/cherry, vanilla, smoke, and dusty earth. Mostly mid section at this stage but overall nice balance. Needs 3-5 years or a long decant.

Stunning wine. Incredibly elegant, showing blueberry, strawberry, licorice, anise. With depth and some blue fruit and bold structure.
