With a ruby color and a tinge of brown showing its age, this cab. sauvignon blend shows an earthy nose of mushroom, game, and forest floor. The palate is rather lean with sour cherry, black currant, plum, game, leather, mushroom, and a hint of petrol. Medium acidity and tannins give it a firm structure but the short/medium finish is a little disappointing. Overall it is a very good wine although not as nicely balanced as it could be. Most likely on its downward trend.

Very good price for bordeaux of this age. As one might expect, not over the top amazing, but a solid enjoyable wine. Tobacco nose. Still deep red not brick. Not so much fruit left, but some nice cedar and mint. Tannins have softened.

Nice aged nose, with some graphite and bay leaf. Initially this was mild, aged wine but it became little more interesting after and hour or two in a decanter. Overall nice, but not very exciting for $24. 87-88

Giving a solid rating due to the unexpectedly positive ratio quality/price. Bought for $17.99 at K&L - everything you like in a classic Bordeaux - 1997 wasnt a good year but the structure kept this one in good shape 15+ years later - tanins are gone and the overall mouth is nice and silky - length isnt the longest but surprisingly long in the context of a 1997 Bordeaux at such price

Much nicer than previous bottle. Tobacco, earth and tar on the palate, nicely integrated; richer than previous bottle 89-90-.

Very smooth on palate and mouthfeel.
Chocolate and plums on the nose.
A very easy drink.
