Decanted and gave it a couple of hours. Really enjoyed this one! Dark delicious blackberry fruit with a smooth leathery, licorice, cream finish, although the currant like fruit notes lingered for a stint also. Very very good! Looking forward to uncorking another L&L 2003 I have...Bottle reads that it was a warmer season and ripened for a late harvest. Very tasty!

Big mouth feel on uncorking. Dark fruits and black licorice notes. Mellow tannins on a fairly long finish. Not hugely complex but very well done. I'm a fan of L&L blends and Sta Ynez valley specifically. As is my usual custom, I'll leave a taste overnight for day two. And on day two it seems to have lost its' mojo...not terrible but the subtleties of the first night has gone with the wind.

More of a Syrah mouthfeel, minus the smoke - one of the least tannic Cabs I've ever had. Goes very well with a marinara-based casserole but does not have enough structure to stand on its own, was noticeably flabby when the tasting started before dinner.

Pop and pour. Dark purple color. Fruit forward nose of black and blue fruits along with some toasty vanilla oak notes. Similar flavors on the palate but a bit too grapey and simple. Still, a very tasty and enjoyable wine.

I really enjoyed this cab, I found it to be drinking very well right now, and enjoyed the sweet black fruit components. May be a tad simple, but definitely tasty and well made.

Tasty, albeit lightbodied of black cherries and a small amount of peppery flavor on the palate. A relatively short finish and low on the tannins and almost no taste of alcohol. It was very easy to finish nearly the entire bottle in one sitting.

Color 5/5: deep ark light eating purple with just enough translucency to give it a little halo around the edges Nose: 12/15: Black currant, plum, white pepper, cedar. Very very pleasant, even right out of hte bottle isn't changing much Flavor/Mouthfeel: 7/10 Tart rasperry, pepper, high acidity at teh start, mellows out, very soft, subtle tannins, don't give the pucker but definitely leave that dusty feeling on my tongue. But as acidity blows off, it ends up feeling a little thin Finish: 6/10 tart, dry, very long. hangs around, dusty tannins, makes me wish i had a nice steak with it Aging potential: 3/5 seems like it could definitely go a few years, I don't know how long that'll last Overall Impression: 3/5, I wouldn't say true to style, but very pleasant, I'm just not wowed... maybe even a little disappointed because I had very high hopes for L&L (this is the first of the trio) Total 5+12+7+6+3+4+50= 86-87/100... I think it's really nice, I just dont' think it's a great cab

Peppery and cherries on the nose. Smoky raspberries on the palate, with a nice finish. This wine isn't especially interesting but it is very solid and well made.

Sort of lacking in tannins, but very nice black cherries, black cassis, and blackberries. Good acidity, but the tannins aren't there to match it, and that's really the only flaw in this wine -- that it's not as tannic as a Cab should be. Short finish.

Outstanding Wine!! Was extremely smooth and gentle. Not to much tanning, and tasted even better after opened for about half an hour. This vintage and varietal might be at its cellaring peak. Recommend drinking it soon.

Sad to say this is my last bot. The second night was better than the first! Read my other review for more details. Still my fave Sta Ynez AVA cab.

Berries and some cherry and pepper on the nose and palate, fairly well integrated with a little heat that disappeared with a little air. Medium finish
