First of 3 ($40) from online wine clearinghouse #3. Short note here, after loving the ‘19 at Kokkari fest about 18 months ago. This vintage, at least on this go around, was tighter off the pour, and even when opening, presented more red than darker fruit, with more oak, vanilla, dill along with an appealing exotic note of incense. Potent acidity, somewhat integrating over time, medium- tannins, no heat. Good+ complexity, VG persistence and intensity. I gave this about an air before drinking, but it didn’t really put its best foot forward until the third night, at which point it was nearly as good on its own as it was with my paella. The ‘19, at a similar stage in its life cycle as this when opened (and without much knowledge on my part on the relative strengths of the vintages in the region), was drinking with more generosity and openness (94, 11/22). This was 91ish out of the bottle, but approaching 93 on night #3. For me, a hold at this point, and will wait at least a couple of years before the next bottle.

My first bottle from this producer and I brought it to a dinner for my wine group, at a Mediterranean restaurant. While this was my 2nd favorite of the night, by group vote this was the WOTN. I don't drink a lot of Tempranillo, but I would have guessed this was new world, maybe WA state. I know we drank it young, but it was really tasty.

Lovely bottle of wine, cassis, black cherry, with seamless, well integrated tannins. Well in its drinking window. Appropriately, served at my Dad's Memorial Service.

Insanely good. Very well integrated. The nose and the palate, it all comes together. Nothing really stands out (in a good way). There is fruit, there is oak, there are tannins, but they play so well together it's like a perfecly conducted orchestra. Can't wait too see how the remaining bottles develop over the years.

The grapes are sourced from old vines in 9 villages Very upfront, very oaky, wood paint, the fruit lies in the back, cinnamon. Palate showing big juicy red fruit, a few dry tannins, clove, cinnamon, alcohol warmth (14.50%), full body, long finish

Found in Zermatt. Lighter than previous vintages. Not sure if less oak than before but it was good. More acid coming through at a young stage. A definite change from Aalto's of the past.

Cata Cegues #2: The wine looks inky colored. The legs are slow. It smells like blackberry, black currant (cassis), high toast, oak, vanilla, cinnamon and clove. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Ripe berries, big mouth, soft tannins, sedate acidity. Very enjoyable. Enjoy now!

Initially drinking very nicely. Good fruit with just a touch of oak. More fruit up front than expected, a ripe vintage?

Quite young but no crime to sample it. Was best on the second day. Quite balanced, not over the top as some.

Did not meet our expectations. Usually this wine never disappoints. Unrecognizable.

Cedar, cherry, red currant with pronounced oaky tones. Good acidic spine. Soft tannins. Very solid and enjoyable already at the young age.
