Loads of oak and tropical fruits lead the way, with notes of mango, pineapple, coconut, and vanilla coalescing throughout. There's an interesting green streak here, and enough acidity to keep it honest. Could use a few more years for the oak to settle and integrate.

At Ridge event. This is a well done Chard with fruit closer to Burgundian style than Cali. It is well made as you would expect from Ridge. However, for my tastes, the french oak was overpowering the fruit and masking the wine's potential at this stage.

A Ridge Tahoe Weekend; 6/29/2023-7/2/2023 (Edgewood Resort): If I was going to have a favorite in the chardonnays this would have been it. Most fresh and light and easy drinking. Sweet and honey and floral. Lighter bodied. This is made all whole cluster with extended contact with the lees. There is purposeful oxidation when the wine is battaged to get the lees moved around (especially during the malolactic fermentation).

Oak needs some time to integrate, but you can tell this will have the legs to go for years. Meursault-like fruit.
