Toasty nose characteristic of chardonnays which have both a lot of oak and age. In the mouth, there is more acid than I expected from such an oaky wine. It gives the wine an undertone of chablis/green apple. The acid is still well balanced with the other components. The effect is of a more refreshing wine.

OC Wine Dinner (Nesai - Newport Beach, CA): An interesting contrast to the Kistler in terms of style and vintage. Notes of lemon-lime, green mangos, and flint. The mineral-laced acidity really makes this wine stand out from the group. A very nice wine worth seeking out.

This has mellowed a great deal since it was initially purchased. While it still has a wonderful oaked nose, on the finish, it is smooth, crisp and yet complex. A great treat. Keeps improving with age.

Nice stuff. On opening, a real present core of coconut and tangering, along a medium bodies frame. Later show same tangerine, anise, elegance and terrific balance--really nice stuff. A chardonnay with pursuing (given that I don't find chardonnay that often compelling).

15% alcohol. weird acidity, and somewhat flabby. this is only a very average chardonnay, and hardly the equivalent of what kistler does with this fruit.

Continuing a wonderful tradition of seafood Cupino on Christmas night at my brother's house, this wine paired wonderfully with the rich garlic seafood. There is some nice oak in this wine, but not over-powering. A very well made wine, a well structured, and smooth chardonnay. Perfect with the freshness of the seafood and warm winter red sauce.

Inserted as a ringer in 2004 white burg tasting but this didn't fool too many people. Pretty good fruit but lots of VA and not enough acid for my taste.

mercifly, our last bottle. just because you can grow grapes, doesn't mean you can make wine.
