The Sonoma syrah has hopes for the future. A deep inky red color that implies the fruit however the syrah smokiness comes first with the alcohol needing some time to evaporate away. The smoke contains, black pepper, and a bit of moist earth (a dusty drawer)...and a bit of black olive. On the palate the dark fruits (a bit of blakcberry and cherry) mingle with a hint of licorice. The finish is not long at the moment more ...medium falling a little flat. Hopefully as this one ages the fruit will come out a bit and the other flavors thicken together into a nice stew for a few years down the road. Day 2: Ah what a difference a day makes in this wine at this young age . The fruit came a bit forward and the sharpness receeded a bit. The same flavors there but with better balance - A delightful wine (+2pts)

Delicious, all be it, young syrah. deep ruby color with hints of cinnemon and dry fruit. medium to full bodied and delicious with lamb, or any roasted dish.

12/31/2007: Blue-black purple color, with a nose of pepper, dark fruit, spice and leather. The wine is medium full bodied, with good acidity, and sharp tannins that should smooth out in a few years. This is a tasty, A complex wine with intense dark fruit flavors, smokiness, spice and pepper and earth. The finish is spice and is medium.

A wonderful syrah. Excellent flavor nose to lingering finish. Well balanced. Loaded with fruit. Integrated tannins. Probably peaking right now.

This is an excellent wine as are all the wines we have tried from Bella. Dark ruby color and good out of bottle.
