Half bottle, 11.5% ABV. Deep orange amber colour; rich and expressive nose, deep yet fresh, (dried) tropical fruit, ripe peach, spicy honey, some baked apple fruit too but much more (T)BA than Eiswein in character, Alpine herbs indicate age; the palate is very sweet (36.5 Brix, which equates to 160 Oechsle; 180 gr/l RS) with gentle mousse and a bright acidic kick, juicy fruit, intense flavours of apple pie, belies its power and sweetness; very good length, white peach and apple, honey. A very good dessert wine, but I am not really sure what the sparkle adds other that it seems to take away richness on the palate - it is very subtle anyway.

Dark orange with very small bubbles which are passive in the glass. Nose of ripe, even rotting apple, some clove. The palate is very sweet but is lively and very spicy, hits of pepper and chilli even, the fruit is apple pie, and the finish is very long. Very distinctive, very good and very expensive.

What an unusual wine. Take a mature icewine with all of its honeyed goodness and add bubbles. Somehow this works. The bubbles and decent acidity cut through the sticky sweetness of this. A sommelier's dream for pairing.

Deep orangey gold. Richly orange and clementine nose. Very sweet entry with the bubbles creating an alcopop impression. Sweet and a little cloying despite some evident acdity. Witha little time, as the bubles become a ittle more muted they bolster the acidity with a sritzy prickle that realy helps this and takes t from a gimmick to a very sweet but refreshing wine. Definately a novelty, but I think it works. Just. Matched some pate de foie gras nicely. ***1/2

This is my favorite Inniskillin of all time, the first time I've had the sparkling vidal. Something about the sparkly just makes the vidal sing so loud and so beautiful, even on the second night the bottle was open. Terrific texture, cloying but not syrupy. Plenty of honey, just a hint of pear and acid. Nose is honey-pearish. Beautiful gold-orange color, lots of bubbles. Outstanding effort, replaces the Oak Aged Vidal as my favorite. I will get this wine every time I go to Canada.

I was too drunk to enjoy this on NYE. What a waste! It was still delicious.

Underground dinner (Bonsoiree in Chicago): Lively and sweet. Good bubbles that were light. A real treat.

Liked this a lot at the end of the meal. Sweetness that seemed to last and long time. Nice small bubbles almost like air with sugar.

Weird, but good. White pit fruit, like a regular icewine; but the fizz tames the honey-like sweetness
