  • Flint, green apple, citrus rind, fresh herbs, some minerality. Tight, crunchy, lots of character.

  • This is simply a very lovely wine , i am kind of short on my notes as i was supposed to participate in a business christmas party but the taxi company let me down so had to make a rapid decision on food and wine.
But i previously think the wine had a funky note on start...seems like it has disappeared and now is the nicely integrated acidity and complexity of the wine. Like it a lot Ohh had it in several Grassl glasses and seems like the cru does best.

  • Tasted blind (wife gave me five choices of what it could be).

Gold, almost hazy, colour. Nose is initially quite powerful, bit of canned asparagus and fruit cup, but quickly blows off to a leaner, chalky scent, with some lemon zest and very unripe pineapple. The aromas unwind with time in the glass, with a smoky, hazelnut character pushing through, as well as honeysuckle.

Palate is really lovely, with medium-ish acidity, a barely oily texture but with enough grip to keep it pleasant, and layers of lemon curd and campfire.

Overall a very complex and enjoyable wine, especially for the price. I love that it kept changing in the glass, bouncing from Chablis to a richer style of Chardonnay. I eventually guessed it was Chard, but for some reason was trying to talk myself into it being Viognier - must have been the honeysuckle. Will buy from this producer again for sure.

  • The palate is dominated by citrus fruits, lemon cest, a flinty minerality, apples. It has a very good mouthfeel and a creamy character with a medium+ acidity that indicates a cool climate area. In a blind tasting I would probably guessed it to be a burgundy or at least an old world wine. Very good balance and a wine that can evolve for 5 years.

  • Well the description is just what Beatles wrote so i am not going to repeat that.
What i will say is that this needs time , wanted to have it Saturday night but it was simply to much citrus ,, now sunday evening just having one glass it is already much better. So i really think it has potential to grow with time in the cellar.

  • Quite rich, complex, a wee bit smokey - quite interesting and complex. Tasted over two weeks, opens very slowly indeed with citrus, some tropical notes, lemon confit. Gets smoother with time. Quite excentric. 91+ point.
