  • Well...this old dog just learned a new trick:
    My first encounter with Timorasso...
On nose: warm stone, slate, sea salt, a ghost of florals.
On palate:all flavour notes amplified, with tart melon rind, black pepper notes, parsnip( in a good way),hay, and notes of lemon rind.....absolutley bone dry, but rich and savoury....the 14.5% alcohol does produce some heat on the salt & pepper aftertaste.
Showing vibrant yellow/ gold in the glass , this 5 year old has the backbone to age further.
A must for a future blind tasting.
As for my final note, this wine is a " triple blanc":
Complex and puzzling to a blind taster, in that it seems to have the properties of Chenin Blanc/ Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Blanc rolled into one complex blend.
Also most tasters would guess " New World" due to the high alcohol......will buy again....intriguing accompaniment to chicken, salmon or pasta with cream sauce.
