Perfect - at its peak now. Super long finish. Primary, secondary and tertiary with acid and beautiful integrated tanins. Can enjoy this by itself now or with a lovely steak. 26 years on, and this wine turned out magnificently.

I think all wine drinkers love opening an old bottle and having it taste amazing. Wine is a story, and there is not a better tale than when you articulate how you bought a bottle, aged it, and then opened it to find out it was still better than the majority of wines out there. This bottle was a bear to open as I couldn't get the cork out or push the cork in, that's a story in itself. A great nose that tells you it was and still is high quality. Great smoke, tons of herbs, and even some vegetables on the palate. Very refined and still kickin 20+yrs later! A great story with a great finish :). Thanks Ted & Jim!
Medium plum red in colour with brick/clear rim. Bouquet is rich and powerful with aromas of black cherry, mulberry and damson plus cinnamon and vanilla. Palate is well balanced with lively acidity and rich blackcurrent, red cherry and raspberry flavours. Tannins are well integrated and the finish is dry, full of rich fruit - quite lovely.

Colour: Lovely brick red with just a hint of brown on the edge, looking good for an almost 20 year old wine. Nose: wow, still getting quite a lot of the American oak, also some quite lovely dark berries and dried fruit. Surprisingly elegant, not as big and boisterous as it was in its youth. Palate: nice, well rounded with some dark fruits again. Confirms the nose - no longer huge but very enjoyable nonetheless. While enjoyable right now, I'm not sure how much longer this will last, especially given this was a magnum.

Superb blend of rich black fruit, mature oak and gentle tannins. Bouquet suggest vanilla, oriental spice and black cherry jam. Flavour is full, rich and well balanced leading to a long, black cherry, damson and blackcurrent finish.

Very little of interest on the nose. Plush, warm, velvety palate with vanillan american oak, plums, and slight spirity character. An enjoyable wine in its style.

Soft and balanced wine that drank well from the first pour, but was somewhat muted and went downhill after about 30 minutes. Don't hold these, drink up

A beautiful wine. 2 bottles consumed at club Father and Son night. Purple, with hints of ageing red at the rim. Nose still with berry and vanillan oak characters evident. Long palate, complex, well structured with plenty of fruit still present.
