I thought this was quite excellent. Fresh, red fruited, strongly speaks of Evangelho, good acid, only medium bodied, low alcohol for its ripeness. The American oak works well here and it's sort of similar to a high quality young traditional Rioja. Fair QPR, too. One of the better Ridge ATPs I've had in the last several years - I will be buying more!

Big cranberry notes almost immediately. Vanilla, raspberry, plum compote, dark chocolate, pepper, and baking spice. High acidity, medium tannin, medium body. The nose follows the taste with an emphasis on cranberry. It’s a vibrant and velvety wine with firm but mailable tannins in the finish that is very pleasant. Only 17 barrels were made.

Light purple color; slightly translucent. On the nose, cherries and earth. The palate has sweet red fruit, cranberry, tasty and powerful acidity, great structure, and is lighter bodied. Really great stuff.

A bit on the reserved side this is. Showing a lighter body than many of the similar wines. Plenty of acidity of course with very fine grained tannin. The Zin seems especially reserved here, not really giving the fruit that forward quality you expect. Barrel influence is around the edges on the nose. A complete package that likely could use a bit more rest. Terrific structure here again.

Excellent! Smooth very acidic with a terrific long finish on the palate. Soy sauce, mushrooms, strawberry jam, sweet cherry. What an elegant blend.
