A nice showing tonight. Getting close to maturity but still showing young. Very earthy on nose, notes of fresh mushrooms. Complex on the palate. Great stuff.

Opened and poured, this wine gave an excellent showing. This wine on the bouquet and palate remains youthful with subtle, underlying mature notes. The bouquet offers notes of earth, dark fruits, leather, and spice. The aromatics are expressive and detailed. The color is maturing dark ruby. The medium (full) bodied palate shows dark, brooding fruit combined with still present tannins on the medium length finish. This bottle suggests that the wine is at or around its peak but should continue to drink well for the next five years. Imported by Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant.

Good and fairly open right away, but after a few days in the fridge it's at its even better. Very powerful; excellent in the mouth with a redcurrant mushroom taste. Excellent finish.

Cigar ash flavors with some hints of reduction. Fruit was not in evidence. Perhaps it is shut down, but regardless it was not a pleasant pour. I thought it to be slightly corked but others disagreed. Regardless, 2/3 of the bottle remained at the end of the evening which indccates it was not a crowd favorite.

Served a bit too warm, but still fantastic. Full bodied, ripe, oaky, quite sweet on the palate, but cut with just the right amount of acidity. Very lovely.

Surprisingly light color - bright medium red with some lightening at the rim. This was surprising considering that Chevillon's 99's are very dark colored wines. On the nose, it's a typical Chevillon with some roasted red fruit, spice, and an intriguing mineral note. The lightness was also confirmed on the palate, where it showed at best medium weight, but nicely delineated flavors. Not much fruit at first, but the mineral note is even stronger on the palate. In fact, I can't remember having drunk a wine where a wine reminded me so much of licking wet stones! After a while, the wine picked up weight and intensity, and became a very enjoyable, yet lighter styled burgundy. A medium-long finish with some unresolved tannin indicates that this wine needs some time in the cellar. Drink 2008 to 2012

Strong note of tobacco at the finish. Mellowed after opening. Drinking well, , but still plenty of life.

Overraskende lite utviklet. Tonnevis med røde bær. Kraft - på pinot-måten. Men dette kan bli veldig bra om 3-5 år... på vei opp - ikke ned!
