Very similar across the vertical (2019, 2016, 2013, 2010) with just some shifting from young freshness to aged rounded softness. 2010 still fresh though so probably close to peak.

This is really nice. Gorgeous purple-ruby, big-time stains stick to the bowl of the glass. Super viscous!! Really rich wine in the mouth, with big-time purple fruit, crème de cassis, and little if any sign of bell pepper. Ripe but not sweet. Literally stuffed with fruit. Texturally, super supple, smooth, and sleek. This is impressive stuff. A real deal at Costco’s $19.99. Wow. 5-12-17-9: 93/100.

Solid well made wine but lacks the vegetal character of cab franc and reminds me more of a leaner Malbec. Plum, bramble, leather, tobacco, spicy. Medium-full body, low-medium acid, low-medium tannins. Accessible crowd-pleaser. Expected even better for a $20 Argentinian wine.

Punches way above its weight class. For $30 this is a steal.
Modern, reductive winemaking imparting very fresh aromatics. Plum, black currant, cigar box. Slight vegetal note, but not vibrant pz/bell pepper, more of a potting soil / compost-like vegetal character.
Medium body, medium tannin, medium+ acid, very smooth.

Dark ruby-purple but still translucent. Lovely nose right at pop and pour, with violets at the fore. Yummy fruit in the mouth, with furry tannin. Decent for the money. 5-12-15-8: 90/100.

A very dark showcase of cabernet franc. Plum, tobacco, violet, vanilla, blackberry and mild oak come together for a deep exploration of aroma and flavour married in stupendous balance. It's almost completely barren of the varietal's pyrazine flare, yet still full-bodied and wonderfully structured with tannins that grip the sides while keeping it smooth down the middle. Complex, nicely acidic and with a long finish that brings the floral notes upwards, this Mendoza gem is a treat.

I thought this was a pretty easy drinking medium bodied red wine showing some lovely red fruit. My wife liked it more than me. Did not entice me to go chase a bottle of their high end stuff.

Aromas of cooked blueberries, blackberry, fig, bell pepper, leather, sweet tobacco, and a faint touch of vanilla.
On the palate it opens soft and plush, it mid palate and finish show grippy tannin and medium acid. Definitely get jalapeño, black pepper, and tobacco on the finish as well. Palate is much more vegetal and savory than nose would suggest. Good wine, would love to see this with 10 years+ bottle age.

Cabernet Franc Global Smackdown (Canoehead Central): Part of a Global Smackdown tasting of Cabernet Franc wines. Double-decanted (min. one hour) and served blind. Purple in hue. Some bright ripe fruit, tomato leaf and bell pepper trying to get past the alcohol heat on the nose. Sour black cherry sauce was my takeaway primary note on the palate with an acidic bite. Can’t avoid the persistent alcohol and younger tannins either. A bit out of balance and a medium finish. This needs more time to settle into its elements. Probably has the structure for mid-term cellaring.

Decanted for 30 minutes before tasting. Deep purple in the glass. Aromas of red fruits, olives, cinnamon, fig, pepper. Medium body, pleasant tannins, really nice acidity, balanced alcohol. Has what I want to describe as a creamy warm red fruit flavor with some more pepper. medium finish. Good value here.

Intense aroma, concentrated, black cherry, pepper, cassis, fig, and violet. Absolutely gorgeous palate, round and tongue-coating, a bit of oak influence, and homey roasted red pepper – a real banger for red meats. I think this will improve even more.

This wine is still young. The colour is inky red, almost black with long curtains. There is a little fruit to the taste and some acid, but it is not overwhelming. Overall it is already a good wine, but I think it gets better with age.

Picked this up for $22 a bottle and does not disappoint. It is just “yummier” from beginning to end than most WA red. Isn’t trying to be brooding or serious, just a fun, big, full bodied cab franc that has pretty big raspberry opener that linearly drops to a mid length finish with some tobacco.

Unusual style for a cab franc, light, without the grassy vegetal notes I am used to. Doesn't really hold up well on Day 2

Brought this to a wine tasting with my wine mates at East Bistro. Theme of the evening: Cabernet Franc.
Fresh bright red fruits on the nose and palate with a touch of herbaceous notes, wet grass and green pepper.
New world in character and style.
