Tasted at Benvenuto Brunello NYC. There is some obvious wood influence here, but I thought it quite controlled and attractive if you like the style, which I tend not to. Nose has mint, tar, cherry, red florals, charcoal and a slightly volatile note. Relatively moderate tannins but bright with acidity, it tasted more rounded and balanced despite the oak with cherry, vanilla and spice. Long finish. If you like this style it needs time in the cellar...5+ years from here I would say.
