Had a tasting pour of this unique wine. Wish there was more of it around. Awesome power and intensity matched by excellent balance. Truly a ninja wine. It tastes several years younger, with minimal signs of aging. It could easily go another five years. Wow.

Very special wine! Decanted magnum for an hour and result is a big, bold wine that is tremendously well balanced. Opened with several other high quality bottles for Thanksgiving and guests kept coming back to this one.

Decanted for about 90 minutes then had with Chicken dinner. Absolutely worlds better than the last bottle that we had.Big Dark fruit on the attack but soft on the mid palate, no alcohol on the finish, just nicely integrated tannins. Drinking well now...A good deal at the $25 I paid...

No decant; poured into bdx glass 45 minutes before sitting down to dinner. Described by winemaker Gerhard as 'bombastic,' this great big blend (more merlot than 02 & 03 Delectus 'Dog' series?) is not subtle. Dark fruit with black pepper notes and a touch of heat stood up well to a spicy chipotle-dijon-lime pork tenderloin.

decanted for 2.5 hours and had with pasta and pizza dinner. A decent start, some black cherry and some good acidity which leads you to think this blend is going to be a treat...but then from the mid-palate to the finish I am over come with alcohol which overpowers all other flavors and leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. I have another bottle and will let it sit for a while hoping time calms this baby down...I am glad I got it at their Grinch sale price of only $25, because I would be pissed if I paid $40 for this...
Unless the second bottle improves greatly, would not buy again

Very high alcohol [16.9% I think], but surprisingly balanced. Drank last week & don't have further specifics. Had with Italian food, and was fine; would have been great with a juicy steak, too.

Consumed on Christmas 2007 in Chicago with mushroom and pancetta risotto; high extraction, high alcohol (17%); just too much; predominantly merlot, but the fruit can't hold up.

Extracted and fragrant this wine has wonderful sents of dark berry and violets. A blend of Merlot Cabernet and Petite Sirah, it shows the Merlot the most with plumb and black cherry poking through. Clove shows up on the backend with vanilla lingering on the finish.

Decanted 30 min. Nice ruby color average nose somewhat fruity. Cherry notes no tannins, getting past peak.

Went well with BBQ flank steak. red berry on the nose, but balanced enough so that the palate wasn't too fruity. not too complex, medium finish.
