Drinking extremely well right now. Rich flavors of black cherry, dried leaves, and solid minerality. Moderate tannins with a dry finish. Can probably go another few years, but I don't think it can improve much.

hell of a bottle of wine, really ripe rich fruit with great structure and a crisp tannic backbone...still a teenager with several years of evolution at minimum to it's future

Lacking a bit for the price. Somewhat one dimensional Cali cab. Straight forward dark red berries. Some nice leather on the finish. Not one of my favorites. Pass. Score is in relation to the price. Kinda steep.

This wine started out with a bite or edge but after at least an hour of decanting it was smooth, creamy and delightful. We enjoyed the wine with lunch of greek style chicken burgers which complemented the wine very nicely. - MH

My first tasting, and I only had the one bottle. Well, this was certainly a surprise. No tasting notes recorded. A great drinking cab, if not a tad bit light, but for this price point, it’s hard to beat from CA.

I've had a couple bottles of the '02, but this was my first '01. Forgot I bought this so a nice surprise. Decanted for about 60min. First glass was tight, but revealed an enticing big nose of tobacco and leather. Dark and brooding on the palate. At about the two hour mark the fruit started popping. What a delcious mouthful of blueberry and plum emerges followed by long finish of earthy-lethery notes. Hell of an intersting and layered Cab for $25 Kudos again to Audelssa.

Vibrant med dk ruby color. Nose-notes of intense ripe dk cherry, layers of soft sweet oak, backdrop of soft earth when inhaling deeply, some sharpness but probably due to alcohol content. On palate-intense ripe dk cherries, silky fee, moderate attack of well integrated tannins, soft acid, soft cedar, quite well balanced at this point for 01 CS, overall good degree of complexity which should allow the wine to improve over time, good structure, my guess is the wine should drink well at least 4-6 years, maybe longer. Finish-smooth, lingering, at least 35-40sec
I even left in my glass for 3h and the wine had opened up even more in the glass with more fruit and softer alcohol on the nose, more balanced feel on the palate.

This is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Mountain Terraces Vineyard in Sonoma County. It has a nice Cabernet nose with admixed oak. It is full bodied with a burst of plum and currant, and picks up some cherry on the midpalate. However, the dusty tannins and oak predominate in the finish, although the fruit is still strong. I would recommend lying it down for 2-3 years. It is a very good value at $33.00.
