Pours a light body as it’s expected. The biggest note in the nose is some medium funkiness - nothing overpowering, that opens up to showcase cranberry, cherry juice, blueberry, fresh crushed granite and light bubblegum. The nose also suggests that grapes weren’t destemmed and/or that there was old wood barrels being used.
The taste is acidic with power tannins. The cranberry notes are in harmony with that. There’s also cherry and blueberry as well but they get a bit hidden with such tannins. This leads me to say that this wine is still way too early for the wine to be drank - at least according to my liking. Nonetheless, you can see the potential in aging and it’s obvious this is a great bang for buck if you can wait half a decade or more to open it.

This pours light purple in the glass. The nose is lovely featuring a particularly earthy and mineral profile. Aromas are of blueberry, mulberry, crushed granite, new leather, smoked meat, black pepper, bubblegum and a touch of brine. While very young, the secondary notes here are lovely. The palate enters on the juicy blueberry and bubblegum of the nose with medium minus tannin and medium acid. The finish shows crushed slate, spice, bubblegum, and blueberry, with a little corn chip note reminding you of the natural origins here. All in all this is quite nice overall and certainly reaffirms Foillard as my preferred Beaujolais producer, though I have to admit the corn chip note on the finish I find quite distracting, especially with food.

Litt rustikk høykvalitets-gamay med dyrepels og stall over leskende høstbær. Ganske vill i uttrykket. God men litt enkel og rotete i aromatikken. Er også blitt altfor dyr

Chrunchy, bright, clean, vibrant, with plenty of red berries, good, integrated acidity. Very, very young - but very lovely even at this age. #Judie#Nyhavn#Erik

The best vintage I’ve ever tasted of Foillards Morgon. Floral with juicy and crunchy cranberry and cherry fruit. Light and airy with high acidity, low on alc. Way too easy to drink. L’Affable, Cannes.

Jean Foillard, an emblematic figure of the natural wine movement and a member of the most renowned group of finest regional biodynamic producers named “Gang of four”. This Gamay was aged for 5 months in vats, unfined, unfiltered, just pinch of sulphur. Medium purple colour. Intense aroma of raspberries, strawberries, smoke, farmyard, leather. Medium- body, vibrant and fresh with intense and pure flavours of smoky and funky cherries and strawberries, high acidity, medium extra fine powdery tannins.

Funky nose but not overpowering the mainly red berry fruits, easy in the mouth, good Morgon

Light and acidic. Strawberry, spice note comes clear but couldn’t stand the funky taste. Not my thing.

Clean, mineral. Somewhat severe - best years mightlay ahead. High acidity and fairly high tannin. Some interesting perfume but not fully developed.
PS: in fact, it shows marked improvement the following day. Riper fruit, more balance.
