  • tasted at the domaine; ripe orchard fruits with pear, apple, and maybe a hint of peach; some ripe meyer lemon; much broader and richer than the Rully tasted before, but still very fresh and vibrant; a very classic example of Chassagne for me

  • Brief notes from a social event. Pear and green banana peel, fresh herbal and vegetal notes, smoke and steel-like minerality. Fresh acidity, but a bit light on the structure.

  • Tasted during a visit to the estate. Limited wines on offer given the devastating 2021 vintage which saw the loss of ~60% of the volume due to frost. Otherwise, we were told 2021 was a more classic, early drinking vintage.

This Chassagne-Montrachet was nicely facetted with smoke, citrus, orange peel, melted butter, mineral notes and oak flavors. Expansive palate, crisp with a good length. A step-up from the Rully, but lacking precision and linearity.
